In case you have not heard, WWE superstar Daniel Bryan has not signed a new contract with the company, much to the shock of wrestling fans and online media. While it is unlikely Bryan, the three-time WWE will leave the company after a three-year hiatus because of injury.

As Eric Ames of thechairshot.com wrote earlier this week, “Since his return, Bryan’s contract situation has flown a little bit under the radar, with no updates or discussion about it since. Today, it was revealed by Ringside News that on the latest edition of PWInsider Elite Audio, Mike Johnson revealed that Daniel has yet to sign a new WWE deal:

“He has not. His deal is still set to expire in September and if he does not, he could still walk out and go work elsewhere. Although my gut feeling is it’s not going to happen. He will probably sign a new deal.”

The loss of Daniel Bryan, who left a void when he announced his retirement from the ring, would be huge – one WWE may not be able to recover from. He, AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura are among the most popular performers on the SmackDown Live brand. His comeback story is new and fresh and will eventually lead to a WWE title push.

Bryan is currently in a program with the 7-foot Big Cass in a “David vs. Goliath” type storyline. Daniel Bryan did state when being interviewed in the ring this week he is ready to make a run toward the top of WWE’s food chain, which right now would be a program with Styles. If Styles were to drop the WWE Title to Shinsuke Nakamura at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view next month, it could be a feud that exceeds expectations.

Ames also concurs there is a slim chance of Daniel Bryan packing his bags and leaving WWE.

“The company finally gave him what he wanted, and he’ll be rewarded handsomely in his next deal, I’d imagine,” Ames said. “I put the chances of Daniel Bryan leaving WWE at 0.0% right now. Something crazy would have to happen for me to believe otherwise.”
