#7 San Diego State leads #15 Florida Gulf Coast 35-34 at halftime.

San Diego State has been lead by star guard Jamaal Franklin who has showcased his tremendous all-around ability as he has 9 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 assists for the Aztecs.

San Diego State was inconsistent in the first half, as although they shot 43 percent from the field, their shooting percentage was helped by a three-minute stretch of good shooting to end the half.

Florida Gulf Coast has played excellent for the most part, as they have shot 55 percent for the first half and have stayed relatively consistent throughout. The Eagles have also showed resiliency as they responded to multiple San Diego State runs with small runs of their own.

The only think that Florida Gulf Coast should adjust is their turnover numbers as their tally is up to eight for the game.

Aside from that, Florida Gulf Coast’s offense has been running smoothly for the most part as they are not forcing shots and have had relatively decent passing, including an alley-oop by Eric McKnight.

Florida Gulf Coast guard Sherwood Brown has played very well for the Eagles as he has 9 points on 3 of 4 shooting. Brown has two personal fouls heading into the second half.

No 15 seed has ever advanced to the Sweet 16 in the history of the NCAA Tournament. Can the seven year old basketball team be the first to pull off the phenomenal feat?
