Steelers 51 Colts 34- The Pittsburgh Steelers dressed in their yellow and blacked striped uniforms and looked like true bumble bees on offense. Ben Roethlisberger was a machine against the Indianapolis Colts throwing for 522 yards and six touchdowns. Antonio Brown could not be contained as he caught 10 passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
Andrew Luck also played admirably as he passed for 400 yards and two touchdowns in the losing effort.
Bengals 27 Ravens 24- Andy Dalton lead the Cincinnati Bengals to a narrow win as he passed for 266 yards. He did not pass for a touchdown but he rushed for two trips to the end zone. Mohamed Sanu was Dalton’s go to receiver, catching 5 passes for 125 yards.
Joe Flacco was ineffective as he completed 17 passes for 195 yards and no touchdowns.. He threw two interceptions.
Browns 23 Raiders 13- The Browns defense turned heads against Oakland. A key interception in the first quarter gave the Browns the momentum they need on defense.
Cleveland’s ground attack was halted in the first half as was Brian Hoyer. However, it was the Browns defense that came to life in the first half, holding the Raiders offense to a dull 6 points.
Oakland’s six first half points were partially due to a questionable play call in which the Raiders attempted to trick the Browns by allowing Matt Schaub to try passing for a first down. It backfired as Tashaun Gipson intercepted the pass.
The Browns entered the second half with a miniature 9-6 lead. Then, as the Raiders were looking to drive down the field and gain the lead, Donte Whitner nailed Darren McFadden, practically forcing a key fumble which was returned for a long gain. The Browns eventually scored their first touchdown of the game when Hoyer threw a four yard pass to Andrew Hawkins. The touchdown is Hawkins’ first of the year.
With the 23-6 lead, all hope was lost for the Oakland Raiders. Derek Carr threw a late touchdown which provided no consolation for the deflated Raiders. It was the final score of the game.
Carr was impressive with his passing totals with 328 yards and one touchdown. However, he fumbled the ball away in the 4th quarter which lead to Cleveland’s final touchdown.
Browns tight end Jordan Cameron left the game with a concussion.
