Wichita State has turned into College Basketball’s darling. The Shockers have made the NCAA Tournament the last four years, including a 2014 season that saw them carry a perfect record going into the round of 64.

Head coach, Greg Marshall has turned a once unknown college in Kansas into a national powerhouse. And when the more prominent schools came calling at the end of the 2015 season, Marshall opted to stay a Shocker and continue building a legacy.

Two of Wichita State’s shining stars are Fred Van Vleet and Ron Baker. The duo led the Shockers in scoring last season, combining for 28.3 points a game. With the pair set to suit up for the team one last season, Wichita State boasts one of the best backcourts in all of the NCAA.

If the Baker and Van Vleet combination weren’t enough to strike fear into the opposition, then Anton Grady might.

Grady transferred from Cleveland State to play his final year of eligibility as a Shocker. The 6-8 forward averaged 14.3 points and 7.9 rebound for the Vikings last season.

It’s a welcome change for Grady who played on a Cleveland State team that wasn’t destined for a NCAA Tournament berth. He now has the opportunity to play for a top-25 team.

“Their mindset is not just getting into the tournament,” Grady said. “Their mindset is getting to the Final Four. I like their winning ways and how hard they worked.”

If the addition of Grady wasn’t enough, the Shockers also added Kansas transfer, Conor Frankamp. The 6’1 sophomore will add depth to the teams backcourt.

“He is unbelievably skilled,” Marshall says. “He shoots it as well as anyone I’ve coached. He’ll make us very difficult to guard.”

Wichita State boasts one of the nation’s most complete teams. Armed with two potential Wooden Award Candidates and two impact transfers, the Shockers will be a lock  to make the NCAA Tournament for a fifth straight season.
