Fashion and fitness—i.e. athleisure—are having somewhat of a love affair right now.

There are so many ways health and trends are coming together to make people not only look great, but feel great, too. According to the BBC, women are now just as willing to pay as much for a gym outfit as they are for a formal dress.

We have therefore chosen to look at the three most fashionable ways you can improve your fitness.

1. Smart Watches

There are a wide variety of fashionable smartwatches on the market right now. You can wear them on a night out, to the movies, at work or simply walking from A to B, and can trust the fitness tracker will never look out of place on your wrist, so it will not tarnish your style.

With high-end brands such as Armani, Michael Kors and Diesel offering fashionable smart watches, there’s never been a better reason to treat yourself to a new luxury watch. It is for the good of your health, after all.

2. Active Wear

The likes of Kate Hudson have made fitness and athleisure fashionable with her active wear clothing. For example, so many celebs and people across the world are turning to the actress’s Fabletics brand to feel and look good while working out – which has been a bit of a difficult art to master in recent years.

Gym wear is everywhere right now, even in French Vogue – so it is the perfect time to embrace gym style and embark on a healthier and more active lifestyle.

3. Sports & Luxury Brands

People often turn to the likes of Nike and Adidas for high-quality fitness clothing, footwear and equipment. With fitness currently playing a significant role in fashion, many luxury designers are approaching classic sports brands to collaborate on a luxury sports clothing line.

For example, Nike recently released a new collection with Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, which they called Nike & RT. Designers are also playing a significant role in fitness.

For instance, Adidas witnessed a surge in their Stan Smiths sneakers during Fashion Week 2014, after Celine designer Phobe Philo endorsed the footwear at a variety of runway appearances.

Expert analysts have stated the new rise in sales for women’s sportswear is largely due to the improved emphasis on fashionable clothing styles, because they allow women to feel confident and happy with their bodies when working out – which is also why many women are now wearing stylish leisurewear, too. In fact, in 2015, Nike announced their sales of female clothing ranges outpaced their men’s collections – and they now plan to create a billion-dollar female fitness empire.

Fashionable activewear and wearable technologies is making people feel happier in their skin at the gym, an exercise class or when out for a run. Thanks to the rise of athleisure, there are also many outlets where one can get their fix such as Get Mark & Spencer Discount offers and Dealslands UK.

It is hardly surprising to learn that many small fashion and fitness companies are emerging to cater to the growing demand, with many female entrepreneurs aiming to fill a gap in the market for high-end female sportswear that is both flexible and fashionable.
