WWE: It is Spring Cleaning time

For the last few years, the month after Wrestlemania is usually when we see superstars get released for several reasons. It has become bigger in recent years as we have seen guys like Cody Rhodes, Ryback, Wade Barrett, Zeb Coulter and others shown the door.

Well we got our first bunch of releases happening that included Josh Brendi, Andrea DiMarco, Mauro Ranallo and Chris Atkins. This was in addition to Simon Gotch and Taijri on the main roster. When it is Spring cleaning time, we typically will see as much as 8-10 wrestlers shown the door. While this is tough to predict, but I see the WWE releasing Darren Young, Eva Marie, and Summer Rae in addition. I did not pick these people because they are injured as of this writing, but that they have not made any impacts as of late.

Let us first look at Darren Young. Yes he was the Tag team champion with Titus O’Neil back in 2015, but that was the last thing he did of notability. Since the WWE has paired him with Hall of Famer Bob Backlund, he has gone flat. I am not knocking either talent, I am knocking the creative team who thought it was a good idea. Plus being injury prone doesn’t help, just ask Barrett.

As far as Summer Rae and Eva Marie, I can’t really think of any thing they have done. It is known that Eva Marie will likely be gone after the current season of Total Divas, but I see Summer Rae joining her as well. They were kept on I feel because of their looks and not their talents.

There are probably more people who I am not thinking of who will be released in the next few weeks. If I missed anyone, let me know in the comments below or tweet us @WrestlingINSC. We will provide the latest on the Spring Cleaning in the WWE.

WWE: Taijri has left the Crusierweight division to return to Japan

When the WWE had the Cruiserweight Touranment last summer that saw TJ Perkins win the first CWC touranment, there was one superstar who was making his comeback with the WWE. It just so happened that one of the superstars in the CWC was Taijri. He was one of two wrestlers who had wrestled for the WWE before the CWC, the other one was Brian Kendrick.

Well, once the WWE started the crusierweight division in the fall of the 2016, they decided to bring Taijri on to the division. However, he had some other work he needed to finish up before he could fully go back to the WWE and we ended up not seeing him until late 2016. He had a few matches for the criserweight division before he got injured again and was placed on the shelf.

It is now being reported that he won’t be returning at all and instead will return to Japan. He cites that the WWE didn’t want to bring him back so fast because of his age. He happened to be one of the older wrestlers in the cruiserweight division. What I find interesting about the whole revival of the crusierweight division is how much it has fallen flat.

Unfortunately, when WCW had the crusierweight division back in the late 1990’s, they had guys like Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero, Brian Pillman, Dean Malenko, and others who would go on to have legendary careers in the WWE. The second run of this division has fallen flat as they really don’t have stars. Yes they have Nevile, but then the names go down hill from there. Also, I feel that with the WWE have the crusierweights on after Smackdown is also killing the division. You can not have any success when you have people leaving a venue after Smackdown.

The Wrestling Department of the Inscriber Magazine would like to wish Taijri luck in whatever he does back in Japan.

WWE: Once Crazzy Steve signs, they should put him in NXT and Sanity

There have been reports going around that Crazzy Steve is done with Impact Wrestling. After the tapings last week, he sent out a tweet by thanking Impact Wrestling and saying that he was done. However, once those reports came out, there were new reports that he was offered a contract from the WWE.

Depending on what source you read, you will get a different answer. There are some reports that are saying that he has accepted the deal and others are saying that he hasn’t accepted anything yet. Once something does become official with him and the WWE, there are several options they could go with him. If they bring him right to the main roster, then maybe he could join Bray Wyatt or the Hardy Boyz. However, the more logical approach that the WWE should take with him is by putting him in NXT and having him in the stable of Sanity.

While Crazzy Steve was in Impact Wrestling, he is a former tag team champion with Abyss while they were in Decay. If WWE continues the Crazzy Steve gimmick in the WWE, I see it fitting in the Sanity stable. Since Sanity has been in NXT, they have been a bit rebel and a bit out there. It fits with Crazzy Steve because he was a bit out there while he was with Decay.

Also I see him having more of success in NXT than the main roster right off the bat. If they bring him to the main roster right off the back, it won’t work out well at all. Unlike AJ Styles who made a name for himself out of the WWE and going to the main roster made sense, Crazzy Steve only really made his name in Impact Wrestling and the small independent wrestling promotions. Unless you saw him in Impact or one of the independent promotions, you may not know who he is.

A Group Led By Jeb Bush and Derek Jeter Win Auction For The Miami Marlins

It has been known for quite some time that Jeffrey Loria, owner of the Miami Marlins has been looking to sell the team. Well, we might be one step closer to actually seeing that happening.

According to several media sources, a group led by former Florida governor Jeb Bush and former New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter have won the auction to own the Marlins. It is unknown as of this writing exactly how much they won the auction for. It is also being reported that this group was the only one who showed actual interest in owning the Marlins. Reports of the Marlins being sold started to hit the media when Charles Kushner, the father of White House senior advisor Jared Kushner had interest in buying the team. It was also around that time that reports started to circulate that Loria was being looked at as a possible ambassador to France.

The next step in the process is that they need to get 75% of the owners in Major League Baseball to approve of the deal. I personally can not find one reason why this doesn’t happen. Since Jefferey Loria has been the owner of the Marlins, it has been rough. Yes they have won one World Series title under the ownership of Loria in 2003, but he has basically blew up what he had and restarted.

The Miami Marlins are not the first team that he has owned. Back in 1989, he purchased the Oklahoma 89ers, then a Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. He then sold them with his sights on owning a professional team by the early 90’s. Unfortunately, he was outbid for the Baltimore Orioles by Peter Angelos. It wouldn’t be until 1999, when he would purchase a small part of the Montreal Expos.

This would not be the first time that someone with the last name of Bush would own a team. Jeb’s older brother George owned the Texas Rangers from 1989-1994. I also feel this would be great for baseball to happen.

New York Jets Way-to-early 2017 predictions: It is going to be a long season

The 2017 NFL Schedule was released last night for all 32 teams.  Before I even get into how I think the team will do this year, I would like to say that this schedule shows where the NFL places the New York Jets. Out of their 16 games, only one is in primetime and that is a Thursday Night match against the Buffalo Bills. Just to put that in perspective, you can look at the New York Giants who have two primetime games in the first two weeks. The Jets have as many primetime games as the Cleveland Browns, who went 1-15 last year.

Now without further or do, here is how I see the Jets season going this year

Week 1- New York Jets at Buffalo Bills

I see this one being a loss right out of the gate. It seems that the Jets have a tough time playing in Buffalo for the last few seasons. In the Todd Bowles era, the Jets have split their four games against the Bills. The Jets are also going into this season without a QB as of this writing, but unfortunately, they don’t have any proven ones on their roster either.

Week 2- New York Jets at Oakland Raiders

I am one of the people who is expecting the Raiders to do business in 2017. The Jets are going to a team that has a young and explosive offense and one of the top defenses in the league. I don’t see the Jets winning here at all. By this point they are 0-2

Week 3- Miami Dolphins at New York Jets

Another AFC East battle and one that won’t be easy. In the Todd Bowles era, the Jets have split the four games they have played the Dolphins. I see the Jets possibly winning here, but I find it unlikely and see them going 0-3.

Week 4- Jacksonville Jaguars at New York Jets

If the Jaguars can stay healthy this season and Bortles can perform well, I see them being one of the teams to make an impact in the AFC. I see the Jags winning this one and pushing the Jets to a record of 0-4.

I also predict by this point is when Todd Bowles seat will start to get hot as they head to Cleveland next week

Week 5- New York Jets at Cleveland Browns

This will be the Josh McCown revenge game. I see this being the first win for the Jets, but not after they blow a big lead. Regardless, by this point the Jets are 1-4

Week 6- New England Patriots at the New York Jets

Really nothing can be said here. Jets 1-5

Week 7- New York Jets at Miami Dolphins

After the Jets get embarrassed by the Pats, they will be playing with a major chip on their shoulder. In fact, after the Jets loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 2, I see them bouncing back in this game and somehow winning. Their record at this point is 2-5.

Week 8- Atlanta Falcons at the New York Jets

If we get the same Falcons team that was an offensive juggernaut in 2016, the Jets will get embarrassed here. However, there happens to be a tendency where there is a hangover for the team that lost the Super Bowl the previous year. However, for the sake of this argument, I will say that the Jets lose here and fall to 2-6.

Week 9- Buffalo Bills at the New York Jets (Thursday Night Football)

I don’t see this being good for the Jets. They are coming off a short week and are facing an AFC East rival. I also suspect that we will see Christian Hackenberg by this point. Unfortunately, I see the Jets losing here and falling to 2-7.

Week 10- New York Jets at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Heading into a bye week, I see the Jets winning here in some sort of fluke way. Jets record at this point is 3-7

Week 11- Bye Week

There is no way the Jets lose this week

Week 12- Carolina Panthers at New York Jets

The Panthers will be playing meaningful football

Week 13- Kansas City Chiefs at New York Jets

I don’t know how the Jets will be able to defeat a team like the Chiefs who plays well in December

Week 14-  New York Jets at Denver Broncos

Long day for the Jets and Hackenberg with the Broncos defensive line

Week 15- New York Jets at New Orleans Saints

The Saints are a tough team to beat at home. At this point the Jets are 3-11

Week 16- Los Angeles Chargers at the New York Jets

I see the Jets somehow winning this game. their record is 4-11

Week 17- New York Jets at the New England Patriots

Do the Jets even need to show up, they have no shot at winning.

Overall I see the Jets going 4-12 in the 2017 season

WWE: Andre the Giant Battle Royal doesn’t do anything to further a career

One staple of WrestleMania is the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. It was introduced before WrestleMania 30 as a way to honor WWE Hall of Famer Andre the Giant. When it was first introduced, it was on the main card and it was a great concept. However, since then it has become a kickoff staple and has been the WWE’s attempt to get the lower tier wrestlers on the WrestleMania card.

Since the first Andre the Giant Battle Royal, we have seen Cesaro, Big Show, Baron Corbin, and Mojo Rawley win the trophy. Those wins have been their WrestleMania moment and that is about it. WWE for whatever reason doesn’t feel to push any of the wrestlers who win the trophy. For example, you look at someone like Cesaro. When he won the first one at Wrestlemania 30, there were people who thought that WWE was finally going to do something with the Swiss superman. Since he won the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, he has won the tag team titles twice (Once with Tyson Kidd and once with Sheamus).

I may have a lot of hope into this, but, the WWE needs to do something with the superstar who wins the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. You have unfortunately killed some of the credibility of the trophy because it doesn’t mean anything. I feel that WWE should treat the Andre the Giant Battle royal like the Dusty Rhodes Classic. What I mean is they should give the winner of the Andre the Giant a push after WrestleMania. As we saw this year with the Dusty Rhodes Classic, the Authors of Pain won it and were push into the Tag team title picture. I will say it again, I am hopeful that WWE will do something with the winner of the Andre the Giant Battle Royal.

Why can’t WWE do the same with the Andre the Giant Battle Royal that they do with the Dusty Rhodes Classic?

WWE: Payback not to feature the WWE title?

We are a exactly ten days away from the Raw branded event Payback. One of the matches we are getting is Randy Orton versus Bray Wyatt in a House of Horror match. However, many sites are indicating that if you look at the promotional material going out for this match, there happens to be no mention of it being for the WWE title.

There was a feeling that Randy Orton would defend the title first against Jinder Mahal at Backlash. However, on Talking Smack Renee Young was mentioning how Randy Orton will be defending the title at Payback against Bray Wyatt. So I am figuring that it was just a misunderstanding. As far as WWE plans after Payback, I have a strange feeling that they will put the title on Mahal at Backlash,

I see them putting the title on Mahal is that WWE is pushing him the right way and investing TV time into his character. Also with the introduction of the Bollywood Boyz, I could see some sort of heel stable being put together. At first I didn’t like the idea of Mahal being the new number one contender for the WWE title, but I am starting to like the idea. For starters, Mahal’s win on Smackdown proves that it is the land of opportunity.

Another reason why I am liking this move is there was the unpredictability factor thrown in. If you look at the guys in that match, you would have figured Luke Harper, Sami Zayn, or Dolph Ziggler as the winner. Mahal was no where on the list. However, Smackdown Live has been very unpredictable since the brand split.

Payback and Backlash will be interesting to see how they end up playing off. Will the WWE title be defended at Payback or will they wait until Backlash?
