The Baltimore Ravens learned Wednesday night that defensive end Brent Urban suffered a torn ACL will which sideline the rookie for the remainder of the season.

Urban, a rookie defensive end from the University of Virginia, has shown flashes of brilliance over the course of this offseason with his strength at the point of attack along the defensive line during mini camp and training camp.

“Tough break,”Ravens’ head coach John Harbaugh noted via Baltimoreravens.com . “It was a one-on-one block. It was just a situation where one guy blocked another guy and the knee just buckled on him.”

The Ravens don’t want to see any of their players go on IR this way. However, the Ravens have legit depth along their defensive line and it was likely that Urban would be a redshirt this season anyways by continuing to grow in practice preparing for the 2015 season.
