There is a showdown between two AFC North rivals this Sunday in week 12 NFL action. The beat up Cincinnati Bengals will hit the road and take on the Baltimore Ravens. The Bengals are coming off a home loss against the Buffalo Bills that saw them lose much more than the game. The Ravens did not fair much better last week, as they suffered a defeat at the hands of the scorching hot Dallas Cowboys.

The Bengals lost two of their top offensive weapons in the game against the Bills a week ago. The team’s biggest play maker, wide receiver A.J. Green, suffered a hamstring injury that may or may not keep him out for the rest of the season. Also, running back Gio Bernard tore his ACL at the end of the game, and his season is over. Needless to say, the Bengals will be without these two explosive players this week. So will the Bengals be able to muster any offense? They are going to need to lean heavily on the defense if they want to contend in this game. The defense is solid, and they are not facing a team that is known for their offensive power, so for that reason, the team may be able to hang in there.

The Ravens rely mainly on their defense, which is a strong unit that has some very strong weeks. They will likely feast on Andy Dalton and his lack of weapons in this game. Offensively, Joe Flacco has been sub-par recently, and the the team does not put up many high scoring games. This one screams low scoring defensive showdown. When all is said and done, I would expect to see the Ravens on top, with home field advantage playing a factor in what is the first of two meetings between the teams this year. I do no like either team, but I just cannot put any faith in the Bengals on the road without Green or Gio. The Ravens defense should be difference in this one.
