Cincinnati, Ohio. The Queen City.

They say good things come in small sizes. In the case of this vital riverfront and shipping city on the Ohio River of close to 300,000, the so-called “Queen City” rules all.

Known for it’s famous skyline chili, zoo, their beloved Reds and NFL Cincinnati Bengals, “Cincy’ as it is called also boasts two storied hoops universities in the form of the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University. Thanks to its unique location across from Kentucky, Cincinnati—along with Washington D.C., with Virginia—are the only two notable Northern cities to share a border with a southern state.

Due to this, Cincinnati has a unique and rare blend of Northern industry and Southern charm.

While not normally considered a proverbial hot bed of entertainment, famous and notable Cincinnatians include Steven Spielberg, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rosemary and George Clooney, Carmen Electra, Jerry Springer, Kathryn Morris and Doris Day.

Could glamour and swimwear model, Whitney Morrow be the next Cincinnati Kid to make a name for herself? Based in Austin, Morrow has amassed a diverse and eye-catching portfolio of swimwear, boudoir, lingerie and artistic nude and fitness that has helped make her one of the most in-demand and versatile models around today.

Despite being a mere 5’2, the former 1999-2000 junior age National Team member, International Elite gymnast and former full ride gymnastics scholarship commit to the University of Georgia has helped prove that good things come in small packages, thanks to her curves and toned and athletic figure.

A die-hard fan of her hometown Bengals and Reds, Morrow is as All-Ohio as it gets despite being deep in the heart of Texas. Below is my Q and A with Whitney as we discuss working out, modeling, fitness and fashion tips and how to look good for the summer.

Robert D. Cobb: What kind of model do you consider yourself? (Instagram, pin-up/glamour, fashion)

Whitney Morrow:I consider myself to be a multifaceted model. My goal when I started my journey was to be able to become whatever the job may require.

I feel I have created a well-rounded portfolio that includes many of the modeling genres; Lingerie, Swimwear, Artistic Nude, and Glamour. I aim to add fitness model to the list, although I feel I have the body for it, I have yet to have realized that goal.”

Robert D. Cobb: What brands have you modeled for? Which one do you enjoy modeling for the most?

Whitney Morrow: I have not had the privilege of modeling for a specific brand to date. I would LOVE to model for Victoria’s Secret, but I believe my age would never allow that as a possibility.”

Robert D. Cobb: Where has been your favorite place to shoot?

Whitney Morrow: “I haven’t had the opportunity to shoot in many interesting locations, most of my shoots have been in studios. I did do one set in front of a graffiti wall that I thought was cool. The pictures have an edgy urban theme I really liked.”

Robert D. Cobb: With summer right around the corner, what fashion and style tips and trends do you have for looking good when the temperature rises?

Whitney Morrow: ”Well, I am new about knowing how to be a girl so I have never really kept up with the latest trends or styles. Honestly, I am usually in a pair of jeans and a tank top and if I wear shorts it’s an adventurous day.

I stay in sweatpants and tank tops around the house, and I am only recently wearing things that are more age appropriate and sexy for events and going out.

I have a new-found love for crop tops as well. I lost 45 pounds a year and a half ago so this will be my second summer I am confident enough to go out in skirts and crop tops. I’m pretty stoked!”

Robert D. Cobb: Within the industry, who is your inspiration?

Whitney Morrow: My inspiration would probably have to be Kelly Gale. She comes off as a very humble and rounded young woman, and has already achieved so many great things it’s uncanny.

And her posing and facial expressions are amazing and to top it off she is absolutely gorgeous!”

Robert D. Cobb: What is your secret to staying in shape?

Whitney Morrow: Well, I started my journey at Orange Theory taking classes and worked with a nutritionist. I now have a membership to Anytime Fitness and recently finished a block of lessons with a personal trainer. If I work out alone, I have a running app that takes me through interval training which was a huge part of my weight loss.

I lift weights, and I have recently started dabbling in yoga.”

Athleisure? Fashion or fitness fad?

Whitney Morrow: “Well…. I’d like to think I’m a trend setter because it’s been my style for years. So, I guess I would have to say fashion. 😉 Besides, what girl doesn’t like looking cute AND being comfortable at the same time.”

Robert D. Cobb: What swimwear trends do you see being big this summer?

Whitney Morrow: Well, I think a few of the trends coming out will hit big. I think the high-waisted bikinis, the cutouts, and the scoop back one piece will be at the top of the list. I see the off-the-shoulder suits being very popular too.”

Robert D. Cobb: What is your go-to swimwear style that you MUST have.

Whitney Morrow: I think I’d have to say my must have is a cheeky or boy short bikini. Although the new styles are looking pretty appealing.”

Robert D. Cobb: What is your workout and fitness secret to staying in shape?

Whitney Morrow: My fitness secret is cardio interval training. But I also have a yoga based stretching app I love, and I do some weight training but my goal is more towards becoming toned and defined rather than muscle gain.”

Robert D. Cobb: As someone who has is very curvy, toned and athletic, what do you think best exudes sexiness and confidence?

Whitney Morrow: I would have to say passion and intelligence exudes sexiness and confidence.”

Robert D. Cobb: What is your opinion of the whole “shaming” issue that seems to permeate across social media and how have you handled it, if any haters tried to call you out?

Whitney Morrow: I think it’s sad that we have come the point in America where people publicly humiliate and in some cases, destroy others’ lives for their own enjoyment. I thankfully (knock on wood) have not personally had to deal with this yet. If it ever happens I hope I handle it with poise and grace.”

Robert D. Cobb: What would you say is your best feature?

Whitney Morrow: I think it’s tied between my eyes and my butt. I’ve always thought my butt is my best ass-set! LOL!”

Robert D. Cobb: Any beaches you plan on hitting up this summer?

Whitney Morrow: No plans yet. I am planning on doing some traveling and was hoping to hit up California. But if I can’t hit a beach I am definitely I do plan on having some fun on Lake Travis or maybe visiting my sister at her lake house.”

Robert D. Cobb: Any future projects coming down the pipeline?

Whitney Morrow: “I have a few things in the works but noting for certain yet. I don’t want to jinx myself so I’ll just say I plan on making 2017 MY year.”

Robert D. Cobb: Outside of modeling, what are your hobbies?

Whitney Morrow: I enjoy working out, it took me a while before I could enjoy exercising after I retired from gymnastics. I have found that I am more productive, energetic, and happy when I have a workout regimen.

It must come from all the hours I spent practicing until my late teens. I also love gardening.

I haven’t had a chance to get my garden in this year which upsets me a bit, however, I have basil, rosemary, tomatoes, onions, and parsley all coming back in from last year which is exciting. And of course, I like to go out with friends, watch movies, listen to music, and hanging around the pool when I can.

My schedule has been a bit busy for playtime the past few months, however, I have decided to limit the number of shoots I do a week to give me more time to enjoy life.”

Sports question: Who are your favorite teams and clubs

Whitney Morrow: “I don’t follow sports much anymore. I had a boyfriend that would watch almost every baseball, basketball, and football that was on. After that I stopped paying attention to sports for the most part. I must say I will always be a Reds and a Bengals fan no matter how poorly they do. Got to support the home town…”

Robert D. Cobb: What are your favorite cities to travel to?

Whitney Morrow: I traveled to almost every state for gymnastics when I was younger and got to visit a lot of cool cities, however I was in the gym or a hotel room most of the time and I was too young to really appreciate it.

I would like to revisit some of those cities and states.

I haven’t had the opportunity to travel much in my older years. I enjoy going to Cincinnati during the holidays to spend time with my family and visit with friends, and I enjoy going to Las Vegas and checking out all the Cirque du Soleil shows and walking around the Casinos.

I’m going to New York, New York for the first time at the end of May which I am looking forward to.”

Robert D. Cobb: What advice would you give to women aspiring to get into modeling?

Whitney Morrow: “My advice for women aspiring to get into modeling would be to learn how to handle rejection. It is a lot harder than it looks and takes way more effort than you can imagine.

I’d also advise to try taking criticism and turn it into a positive instead of considering it a negative. There will always be negative things said about you, but if you can take it piece by piece and filter out what is useful from what isn’t, there is always opportunity to grow.”
