Week 1 is in full swing. The action has been hot and heavy. There have been some surprises and some things that are normal. In one game this morning the Philadelphia Eagles hosted the Cleveland Browns. This was billed as a battle of the #2s. Let us look at how this played out.

Rookie quarterback Carson Wentz got the start for the Philadelphia Eagles. He looked good in his debut. He went 22 of 37 for 278, two TDs, and no INTs in his NFL debut. Many may say that his stats are because he played against the Cleveland Browns. However, I say this is because he is NFL ready. Wentz has looked like this since the NFL Combine. This performance should come as no surprise.

Robert Griffin III looked like he did with the Washington Redskins. In his debut with the Cleveland Browns, RG3 often held the ball too long and did not look to run when needed. He tried to stay in the pocket and be the pocket passer. This ended up causing him to get hurt. Late in the game, RG3 appeared to hurt his non-throwing arm, shoulder, or chest. He did return to the game, but we will see how this affects him in the coming weeks.

The Browns are the Browns. Early in the game the Cleveland Browns and their defense kept the game close. But in typical Browns fashion, they folded in the second half. They could not get anything done on either side of the ball in the second half. If this is the case all year long, the Cleveland Browns and their fans are in for a long season.

All in all, the Cleveland Browns and the Philadelphia Eagles played a very entertaining football game. Carson Wentz looks to be the real deal after week 1. If he continues on this pace, the Eagles will be a team to contend with in the NFC East.

The Browns, on the other hand, still are going to need some more help to get where they want to go. What does week 2 have in store? Watch next week and find out.
