The first Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor press conference took place on Tuesday in Los Angeles, California ahead of the pay-per-view fight later this Summer. Neither fighter held back words as they verbally attacked their foe. Each one was confident in themselves as they talked to the crowd during the first of four press conferences before the main event on August 26.

McGregor and Mayweather sent verbal jabs back in forth in front of the crowd and to the world via a live stream. It’s not shocking that neither were overly peaceful and instead resorted to rhetoric you’d see in a political debate. Each fighter respects each other but being nice to each other during a press conference doesn’t bring in more attention to the fight. Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are expected to each make a lot of money from the boxing event. It will be the UFC star’s first boxing match against a professional boxer. While he can use his UFC skills as he prepares and trains, Mayweather will be in his natural state.

It will be the UFC star’s first boxing match against a professional boxer. While he can use his UFC skills as he prepares and trains for the boxing match in August, Mayweather will be in his natural state. Don’t be surprised if Mayweather struggles during the event early on. Despite the fact that they can’t kick or take the fight to the ground like in UFC, McGregor is a unique opponent for Mayweather as his technique will surely be different than someone who primarily boxes.

In case you missed it earlier or want to watch it again, check out the video of the full first press conference below. It’s worth watching as each verbally punched each other. Just be mindful that there is some NSFW language in the video. The presser on Thursday only helped hype up fans for the actual action. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next press conference later this year.

All in all, Mayweather vs McGregor will be big for those who control the event, and those who benefit from setting the odds and subsequent bets. It wouldn’t be shocking if the intensity of the next press conference only heats up from here. Fans will know for sure during the second of four pre-fight press conferences leading up to the August 26th fight, which will air on Showtime.
