With the start of the 2017 NFL offseason just over 2 weeks away, teams are making money arrangements. One such team is the Denver Broncos. They are trying to open up some salary cap in order to make a move. Here are some free agent targets that the Broncos may just have on their radar.

Andrew Whitworth – Left Tackle

The Denver Broncos are in desperate need of offensive line help. Last year they went and spent money on two tackles, Russell Okung and Donald Stephenson. Both of which were highly regarded at their positions. Neither player played exceptional well last season which led to the release of Russell Okung on Thursday. At one point of the 2016 season, Stephenson was even benched. If the Broncos are going to protect Trevor Siemian or Paxton Lynch they are going to need to spend money on upgrading the line in front of them. Whitworth would help that cause.

Dontari Poe – D-Tackle

The Broncos were one of the worst rushing defenses in 2016. They were especially bad between the tackles. In order to improve on last year, they are going to have to fix this issue. Who better to bring in than a division rival? Poe is a 350lb tackle who eats up the middle. He is an excellent run stopper and can also get after the passer. The Broncos would be wide to be one of the teams going after this big man.

Tramon Williams – Cornerback

There are reports that the Denver Broncos could part ways with one of their outstanding CBs, Aquib Talib. If that happens they may be looking for a replacement. Yes, I know they have Bradley Roby, but can he step in and play the shutdown role that Talib did? And if they do move Roby opposite Chris Harris Jr, they are going to need a nickel corner. Williams could come in a fill both roles if necessary.

T.J. Lang – Guard

Again, the Denver Broncos main area of an upgrade is the o-line. T.J. Lang would be a great addition to this group. If he is not re-signed by the Green Bay Packers, I would be on the phone with his agent. He is a great run blocker and can cover the inside for the QB.

The Denver Broncos are a team, on paper, that is not far from a return to the playoffs. They have some inexperience at QB but to be young at that position is a good thing. With the right moves, I believe that the Broncos could be right back contending for the AFC West and be a playoff team.
