There will be a showdown in Louisiana this week, as two teams who once had a Manning under center will go up against one another. Peyton Manning’s old club the Denver Broncos will come East as they take on Archie Manning’s team, the New Orleans Saints. The Broncos, who sit in third place in the AFC West despite a 6-3 record, lost a week ago in Oakland. Meanwhile, the Saints are playing well, as they won their second straight in week nine when they went West and destroyed the joke that is the San Francisco 49ers.

It is surely interesting to note that two of the Broncos three losses have come on the road. They have played a total of four road games, and have walked away with a .500 record away from Denver. They are a team that is built upon their defense, but their offense can show up at times. They are a team that I have a hard time reading this season. Offensively, they certainly rely on the run game, and given the Saints poor defense, that run game should do just fine this week.

The Saints traditionally play better when they are at home. That is exactly where they find themselves this week, but there is plenty of reason to expect an upset here. Two weeks ago, the team stepped up and defeated the Seahawks while at home. So traditionally, the following week would be the letdown game. But luckily for New Orleans, they had the 49ers last week, and no one is going to lose to them right now. That sets this week up for the hangover. So I am banking on this being a letdown against a team that is certainly capable of winning this game, even on the road.
