NFC North rivals will go head to head in the windy city this week. NFL week four actions will see the Detroit Lions head to Illinois to take on the Chicago Bears. The Bears get to play host as they look for their first win of the season, losing their third straight game last week in Dallas by a score of 31-17. The Lions, on the other hand, stand at 1-2 after falling short in their comeback against the Packers last week, losing 34-27.

The Lions have had no issues putting up points on the road this season. In two road games, one of which resulted in their sole win on the year, the team has put up a total of 66 points. So we know the offense is not the issue, with Matthew Stafford and Marvin Jones off to tremendous starts to the season. The team has seen no ill effects of Calvin Johnson stepping away as Jones has been sensational, catching nearly everything thrown his way. It is the defense that the club needs to worry about, however. The unit simply has not performed all that well but will have a chance against a Bears club that has done nothing to impress.

Speaking of the Bears, they have some quarterback questions as we enter this one. Jay Cutler has been limited in practice this week with his thumb issues sustained two weeks ago. More than likely he will be sitting this one out, meaning Brian Hoyer would be under center a second straight week. Hoyer was 30 of 49 last week for 317 yards and two touchdowns a week ago, but most of that was thanks to the fact that the club was behind Dallas most of the game.

Jordan Howard may be the difference maker in this one. The running back will take the reigns with teammate Jeremy Langford out with injury, and the rookie back is averaging 5.6 yards a carry this season. Going against a poor defense like the one Detroit has could mean a big game for the rookie. Hoyer showed enough last week to prove he can produce some stats, which could ultimately lead to points against the Lions.

So they are at home with a hot rookie running back taking over. Getting points at home, this is the week to back the Bears, with or without Cutler.
