Sometimes the most under-appreciated actors are the most bold and daring. Such is the case with James Frain, who might be one of Hollywood’s best kept secrets.

Born in England, Frain is a master in the art of cinema, as he earned his degree in Drama and Film from the University of East Anglia. Frain was discovered by Sir Richard Attenborough, and as a result cast him in Frain’s first feature film, Shadowlands.

Frain has had numerous minor roles on successful television shows including The White Queen, Californication, Grimm and Grey’s Anatomy. His most notable role was that of Thomas Cromwell in the Showtime original series, The Tudors.

Some of his other film accolades include The Lone Ranger, Tron Legacy, and Water For Elephants.

In addition to his stellar on camera career, Frain is also an accomplished star on Broadway. He starred alongside Ian McShane in The Homecoming, which won the Drama Critics Circle Best Ensemble Award. Frain has also preformed with The Royal Shakespeare Company and Royal Court.

Frain can currently be seen on ABC and Marvel’s show Agent Carter, and will also be featured in three 2015 films The Architect, Olivia Martha Isle and Headlock. Frain is a treasure in Hollywood, as you don’t find too many performers  that truly share his love for the craft of acting.
