Olivia Munn will be joining the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse, in the role of Elizabeth “Betsy” Braddock, who is otherwise known as Psylocke.
According to Variety, director Bryan Singer made the casting announcement on Monday afternoon, by way of an Instagram post.

Munn joins Lana Condor who will play Jubilee, and Ben Hardy who is set to play Angel, as the most recent additions to the cast of Apocalypse.
The character of Psylocke was first introduced into the Marvel Comics Universe in 1976’s Captain Britain issue #8. Her abilities are primarily psychic and include telekinesis, precognition, telepathy, mind control, and generating illusions. These powers allow her to generate weapons such as mental bolts, a telekinetic katana, and psychic knives.
The character of Psylocke previously appeared in 2006’s X-Men: Last Stand, where she was portrayed as a minor villain in Magneto’s regime, by actress Mei Melançon.
Although many new faces have been added to the cast of Apocalypse, two veterans of the series will not be appearing and one will be making her final appearance.
Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart will not be appearing in their respective adversarial roles of Erik “Magneto” Lehnsherr and Dr. Francis Xavier. And Jennifer Lawrence will be appearing as Raven “Mystique” Darkholme for the last time before shedding her blue skin.
With production starting this month, hopefully the producers will be quickly forthcoming if there happens to be any additional casting news.
