If you’re a fan of Ghostbusters Friday was the best day of your life. This week’s Entertainment Weekly features none other than Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd and the rest of the Ghostbusters cast back together for the magazine’s Reunion Issue.

In the feature, the cast hits on a number of topics and reminisce about the film’s legacy and the late Harold Ramis. However, there are also answers to some more pressing issues, including the make-up of the infamous Slimer ectoplasm, a topic which Murray addressed   “Slimer contains potentially deadly, and definitely gross, ingredients” Noted Murray, “the disgusting combination of items that went into making Slimer’s ectoplasm was corn syrup and another … and starch and … some sort of an adhesive and a kind of a poison that’s used on chinch bugs.”

What the article doesn’t do is give an update on the planned all-female reboot. With the reports that Paul Feig is looking to take the film in a new direction, most of the film’s original cast had little to say on the topic.

However, Akroyd was willing to express his opinion.  “It’s really hard to — to recreate something that was so beautiful, so wonderful.”

Ghostbusters was indeed a beautiful and memorable film that can never be re-created.

The film celebrated its 30th anniversary on June 1st, and is still immensely popular, further solidifying it’s role as one of the more classic comedies of the last 50 years.

With iconic characters such as The Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man and Slimer, the film has remained, and will continue to remain, firmly in the hearts of movie goers throughout the world.
