I am sure you have heard of the Madden curse which supposedly brings bad luck to the player who is on the cover of EA Sports Madden NFL video game. Well, I believe we have a worse curse in the Kardashian Curse. This curse basically is a death sentence to your career. If you don’t believe me right now that’s fine, I will give you an outline of examples and by the end of this article, I will have you believing in the Kardashian Curse.
Exhibit A- Kim Kardashian the most famous of the crew. Here is a list of athletes/performers she has been involved with.
- 1999- Joey Lawrence- He was on top of the pop world had just finished 5 successful seasons on the hit show Blossom. After he was with Kim K his career never ever got back to the level it was prior to Kim K.
- 2003- Ray J- you may know him better as brandy’s little brother and he was never able to shake that moniker especially after dating Kim K and having a sex tape with her.
- 2006-Nick Lachey- 98 degrees was huge in the early 2000s but nothing really ever manifested for Nick Lachey after dating Kim K
- 2006-The Game- After dating Nick Lachey she moved on to the Game (Jayceon Taylor). He came onto the scene with 50 Cent and instantly got famous and then he met Kim K and his career slowly faded like the end of a song. He never did reach that same popularity level as when he first hit the rap scene.
- 2006-Nick Cannon- They also had a sex tape and it seems things have been going swimmingly for Nick Cannon since then lol.
- 2006-Benji Madden- Guitarist of the popular pop group Good Charlotte who had a bunch of hits leading up to 2006. After 2006 Good Charlotte never cracked the top 40 again.
- 2007-Marques Houston, Scott Storch, and Reggie Bush. I will attack all 3 of these separately in this bullet. Marques Houston wasn’t really popular before dating her but he definitely didn’t make out better for dating her. Scott Storch was one of the hottest if not the hottest producer out there. After being with Kimmy K he too was on a milk carton. Reggie Bush was a Heisman Trophy winner and a top NFL Prospect. He now owns the dubious achievement of being the first and only RB to have more than 10 carries and finish the NFL season with negative yards. So much for all that talent.
- 2010-Miles Austin- He was one of the Dallas Cowboys top WR in 2010 right before him and Kim K started dating he had a 1000 yard season and 7TD’s after 2010 he would never go on to have 1000 yard season again in the NFL.
- 2011-Kirs Humphries- He had just come on the NBA Scene and was hitting his stride. The 2011 season saw Kris Humphries average a double-double in Points and rebounds. 13.8 PPG and 11.2 RPG. After their divorce, his best season was 8.4 PPG and 5.9 RPG and some seasons he didn’t even average 5PPG.
That was just Kim K’s ex’s Kayne West is her current Man and let’s be honest since they have been together it has gone down hill for Kayne. I remember when he made through the Wire and Kayne’s Work Out son and Gold digger. Now he is canceling concerts and just a mess. But now let’s look at the other family members for them I will just use their most recent exes. First Khloe Kardashian.
- Rashard McCants
- Derrick Ward
- Lamar Odom
- Matt Kemp
- French Montana
- Tristan Thompson (who did a disappearing act in the NBA Finals)
Kourtney is no better although at least she seemed to only wreck one man’s life. Lord Scott Disick was the causality of the Kardashian Curse.
It even extends down to the Jenner’s now but for the sake of this article and time, I will only use the Kardashians.
