The 80-game PED suspension given to Miami Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon is a significant hit for fantasy baseball owners. Replacing one of the top fantasy options at second base is difficult, if not outright impossible, but here are four options to consider on your league’s waiver wire if you’re faced with finding a fill-in for Gordon.
Chase Utley, Los Angeles Dodgers
Utley has had an early season resurgence for the Dodgers, hitting .307 with 12 runs scored and five RBI over 75 at-bats. It’s worth wondering how long the 37-year old can sustain solid production, and Howie Kendrick should eventually take more playing time, but Utley is worth a look until something changes dramatically.

Derek Dietrich, Miami Marlins
Dietrich is in line to fill-in for Gordon as Miami’s starting second baseman, and 10 home runs and 24 RBI over 250 at-bats last season offers some promise in a bigger role. NL-only league owners have to immediately take notice of Dietrich, and mixed league owners should be monitoring him.

Omar Infante, Kansas City Royals
Infante has a hit in six of the last seven games, with three runs scored and three doubles over that span to push his season numbers to a solid level (.277, eight runs scored and three RBI). There’s not a ton of fantasy upside here, but Infante is woefully under-owned and now looks like a chance to add him.

Kolten Wong, St. Louis Cardinals
Wong is off to a slow start this season (.216, two RBI and seven runs scored), and he has been limited lately by the flu. That, said, he proved in 2015 that he can be a fantasy asset at a position where across the board production is rare (11 home runs, 61 RBI, 15 stolen bases and 71 runs scored)
