Focus is shifting to fantasy football with the NFL getting going, but here are five guys to look to add in your fantasy baseball league heading toward next week.

5-Los Angeles Angels 1B C.J. Cron

Cron missed a month and half with a broken left hand, and he started lowly upon returning in mid-to-late August. But since then he has a hit in 12 of his last 13 games with a .352 average, five home runs, 10 RBI and 10 runs scored over that span. With solid overall numbers this year (.286, 16 home runs and 62 RBI) and a good streak at the right time, Cron can be re-added in mixed leagues.

4-Atlanta Braves SS Dansby Swanson

Swanson seems to be hitting a bit of a stride, with at least one hit in three of his last four games and back-to-back games with a home run (four RBI and three runs scored in that span). The 2015 No. 1 overall pick will be draftable in fantasy leagues next spring, but he looks to be far from dead weight right now.

3-Colorado Rockies SP Chad Bettis

Bettis threw his first career shutout on Monday, and over his last two starts he has allowed two runs on seven hits (13:1 K/BB ratio) over 16 innings. His overall numbers are still an eye sore (4.88 ERA, 1.41 WHIP), but Bettis has somehow posted a 12-7 record and he’s pitching well at the right time for fantasy owners.

2-St. Louis Cardinals 1B Matt Adams

Adams returned from a shoulder injury a week ago, and over his last three games (all starts) he has two home runs, four RBI and three runs scored. Power alone makes Adams an intriguing fantasy option, so those that need a home run boost should take a long look.

1-Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton

Buxton was recalled by the Twins on Aug. 31, and since the calendar flipped to September he’s hitting 12-for-26 (.462) with four home runs, 10 RBI and 10 runs scored. Things may finally be clicking offensively for the former No. 2 overall pick, so any mixed league owner would do well to take advantage immediately.
