Marcus Mariota has been one of the surprises of the last month or so among fantasy football, and real football, circles. After going for four scores and four interceptions in the first four games of the season, Mariota has rattled of an incredible string of fantasy football production. He’s gone for multiple touchdowns in five-straight games, including 3+ scores in three of five of these games. He’s been on absolute tear lately, and he and the Titans host the Packers this weekend, and unless you have a bona fide stud quarterback, you should be finding a way to get Mariota into your lineup this weekend against Green Bay.

As stated above, Mariota has been on an absolute roll in his last five games, but the quarterback has mustered consistent fantasy production all season, with his cratering against the Raiders and the Texans as the only games this season where he doesn’t have multiple touchdowns, making that seven-of-nine games this year wherein Mariota has gotten two scores. While this can’t be considered a part of his floor, it exhibits remarkable consistency. What makes Mariota a great option this week, and most weeks, is his floor. Mariota is one of the league’s burgeoning dual-threat quarterbacks, and with running yards being 2.5x as valuable as passing, that boosts his floor significantly. So far this season, Mariota is yet to get double-digit fantasy points solely from his yardage. This ability to supplement his passing yards with rushing yards will cushion Mariota from an exotic smash mouth breakout giving him scores with low yardage totals that would crater his value. He’s a rich man’s 2015 Alex Smith in that way so far this year.

The Packers are a neutral matchup against quarterbacks this year, but have spent three of their games so far against Blake Bortles, Brian Hoyer, a struggling Andrew Luck and Bad Eli. Dak, Ryan and Stafford have all thrown for multiple scores against them. Good quarterbacks in good situations have torn apart the Packers defense, and Mariota will be no different. While the interceptions are a concern, Mariota is on a torrid pace over his last five games and is daring you to keep him out of your lineup. His remarkable fantasy point consistency has made him the perfect option to supplement an incredible roster that just needs a quarterback to not tank you. Given that he’s going up against a middling-to-questionable Packers pass defense while the Titans need to lean away from the run makes him an option you should get into your lineup unless you have one of the true studs.
