Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric was given the Golden Ball award for being the best player at the event. He was influential in everything the Croats did in Russia, with vital goals against Argentina and Denmark.

Eden Hazard won the Silver Ball for his dazzling displays from the left wing. No player at the tournament completed more dribbles than the Chelsea winger. He totally ran the show for Belgium throughout the tournament, with man-of-the-match displays against Panama and England as Belgium finished in third place.

The final team on the podium was Paris Saint-Germain wonderkid Kylian Mbappe. The French star became the first teenager to score at a world cup final since the legendary Pele. His brace against Argentina was one of the highlights of the tournament, with industrious displays against Belgium and Uruguay also earning him rave reviews from all corners of the globe.

Other notable performers at the tournament include England’s Harry Kane, who won the Golden Boot for being the top scorer with 6 goals, Kevin De Bruyne, who along with Hazard led Belgium’s charge to third place, and Ngolo Kante, a vital cog in France’s winning team.
