The Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, lose the series finale against the Missions 8-2 on Saturday. San Antonio starter Kyle Lloyd, who no-hit the RoughRiders May 13, dominated the club again. Frisco loses the matchup, thus losing the four-game series 1-3.

Lloyd tossed 8.0 innings for the Sand Diego Padres affiliate. He allowed just four hits and two runs (both earned) while striking out seven RoughRiders. Lloyd was perfect through 3 1/3 innings and had a no-hitter through 4 1/3 innings. Frisco’s Eric Aguilera broke up the no-hitter with a single in the fifth.

The RoughRiders only two runs came in the bottom of the fifth. Luis Marte hit a groundout that scored one, while Michael DeLeon’s RBI single allowed the final run to cross the plate.

Ariel Jurado, RHP

Ariel Jurado, ranked as the No. 3 prospect in the Texas Rangers organization, was roughed up by the Missions. He went a season-low 4.0 innings, allowing 11 hits and six runs (four earned). Jurado walked one and struck out just four. In relief, David Ledbetter tossed 3.0 innings of three-hit ball. He gave up two runs (both earned), walked one, and got one punch out.

Ryne Slack pitched one inning. He allowed just one hit, striking out two batters. Nick Gardewine finished the matchup with the same line as Slack, giving up one hit and getting two strikeouts.

  • Michael O’Neill extended his hitting streak to seven games with a single in the eighth. O’Neill has hits in 14 of 15 games with the Riders.
  • Ariel Jurado dropped his second decision in his past three outings, allowing a season-high-tying 11 hits over a season-low four innings. Jurado is 1-2 with a 6.75 ERA in June after a 5-0 record and 1.86 ERA in May.

The RoughRiders will begin another four-game set, beginning Sunday night. The Midland RockHounds, Double-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, come to Dr. Pepper Ballpark.
