Such an enigma to those who live in the West, that very few know of its existence, let alone it’s Old World beauty and allure.
Derived from the word bulgars, a now-extinct tribe of Turkic origin, the southeastern European country with a population of 7.1 million, can best be described as a both a cultural and historical cross roads linking both Europe and Asia.
Thanks to be bordered by Romania to the north, Serbia and Macedonia to the west, Greece and Turkey to the south and the Black Sea to the east, has seen the presence of the Thracians, Greeks, Persians, Celts, Romans, Goths and Huns.
Passed thru the hands of conquerors such as the Romans, Mongols and Ottomans, Bulgaria is a rare and intoxicating mix of East meeting West. It’s capital, Sofia was founded over 7,000 years ago, makes it the second oldest European capital, and one of great beauty and historical charm.
As a country, Bulgaria is known for its roses, yogurt and breathtakingly beautiful women, could Beverly Hills bombshell, Anna Alimani be it’s hottest new export?
While it’s roughly 6,000-plus miles from Sofia to Los Angeles, the 5’10 long-legged, dark-haired first-generation Bulgarian hazel-eyed beauty has appeared in men’s magazines such as FHM and Arsenic and most recently in music videos such as Quincy Brown’s Night and Day, Alimani is a alluring name and unforgettably sexy face, that you may not know right now, but come 2018, you will know more about soon.

Below is my Q and A with Anna as we talk Bulgaria, her adopted hometown of San Francisco, the Warriors chances of repeating, life in Los Angeles, being a boss bitch and keeping things hot in the bedroom.

What is it about Bulgarian and Eastern European-born women being so dark, mysterious and yet sexy? We were just born with it! I guess we are a dark enigma as there is intelligence beneath the layers of beauty, being from an older culture we are more likely to have been exposed to older traditions and so we understand life in a different deeper level, which makes us more interesting as our views are often different in a stark contrast.
We are often a closed book which entices the reader to want to read if you get what I am saying.
As the first-ever Bulgarian model interviewed, care to tell our readers something about your country that some may not know. Bulgaria produces 70-85% of the world’s rose oil- no wonder Bulgarian women smell so good!
In Bulgaria you conversely nod for the answer “no”
- Bulgaria is the oldest country in Europe, the country hasn’t changed its name since it was first established. This happened in 681 AD.
- Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, was founded 7000 years ago. This makes it the second oldest city in Europe.

How is San Francisco these days? I haven’t visited since I moved to LA, so I have been away for about 1 year and 3 months but from what I know the only factor that has changed in the influx of Silicon Valley population that has driven up property prices and rents- bad news but good news for people like me as I am also a realtor, there is opportunity in ever situation.
Think Dubs is going back-to-back? Maybe, maybe not, I am not a huge sports fanatic so I am really the wrong person to ask but since California is the golden state and I do live here, heck why not?! Let’s get it baby!
What has been the best place you’ve been too and visited so far? Vienna Austria-it’s an old empire and its absolutely impeccable, not even a single piece of gum on the sidewalk! It is also host to some of the best clubs which are equipped with the best sound systems in the world, as well as all of the picturesque buildings and culture that are everywhere in the city. PLUS- it is the birthplace of pretzels and my great grandfather so Austrian so pretzels and architecture and pretty things? COUNT me in!
What kind of model are you (IG, fitness, bikini, lingerie) Haha well its hard to put a pin on that- basically when it comes to modeling I am a jack of all trades. I am very open-minded to the craft and despite my keen sense to business, I have always been heavily involved in the creative side of things- so IG, fitness, bikini, lingerie, fashion you name it!
I have currently really become obsessed with the lifestyle fashion pictures people post on IG which ranges from having the cute lingerie one piece with the sweats while posing in front of a range rover- it’s super organic but also blended together in a boujee way which makes it very appealing. So what kind of model am I? I am blended into all the different modeling genres so I guess that makes me a universal model.
How long have you been modeling? Since I was 18. Being a Libra I have a draw and strong attraction to things of aesthetic nature and beauty, so I am naturally drawn to such things.
What first inspired you to become one? Honestly, Angelina Jolie. I watched a couple of her movies while I was still a teenage girl and I become enamored with her appearance, her smooth sense of seduction and how she literally makes love with the camera; they always say a picture is worth a thousand words and if you can create that much a variety of words with a single picture, that is powerful.
We live by vision- so if you can create life through vision while bringing out untapped sources of imagination which stem from that, you are powerful and you are a creative force.
Where has been your favorite place to shoot? So far I LOVE to shoot in New York. It is the Empire state and the plethora of all rustic buildings as well as the landscape that is shot by millions each year makes you feel like you are on top of the world and you own it. Not only that but it offers so much diversity in themes of what and where you can shoot- and it doesn’t hurt the fact that it is the fashion capitol of the world.
What is the most exciting aspect of modeling? Every shoot is different. I love the fact you go in with a certain theme and then you have a different love story with each camera, you don’t know what your product will be sometimes things turn out way different but in an amazing way and other times not as much. Its an open canvas and each time you paint it is different so I love the excitement and opportunity of getting to create at any given chance.
What fashion and style tips and trends do you have for looking good when the temperature drops? Definitely focus on casual classy looks, think Kendall Jenner fall fashion, simple, bold and something that blends easily in all environments, fall brings lots of festivals so with a foolproof look like that, you are certified to attend any event! Different colors of jeans, fitted, base colors shirts and knee high leather boots will own any type of look.
Styling tips include using my neutral colors in your make up palette, think warm earth undertones but focus more on making your features pop, accentuate the eyes, lips, keep hair groomed, and put on some appealing fragrances- pumpkin spice anyone?
As someone who is very sexy, how do you keep things hot in the bedroom? BE CONFIDENT! I cannot express this enough but when you act like you own it- have the matching looks you really do OWN it and no one can tell you different! I also like to be very open about what I like and dislike- I am almost too blunt like I will tell a dude to fuck me harder, or eat my pussy better or tell him I want to be slapped, tell your partner your fantasies and don’t be afraid to explore new things, be vocal, be open, be fun!
Thong, g-string or commando? G-string- that way you have a small token of conquest that you still haven’t fully reached, plus a black g-string on a tanned bod? Nothing is hotter, because basically you see it all but you don’t at the same time, its a great tease and creates a great pretense and environment for excitement!
What is the hottest fashion accessory that you MUST have? I firmly believe the fall season commands that everyone at least have one foxy, fall bomber jacket. It exudes a level of boss bitch approach and it blends in with the changing of seasons by giving a bold impression, look and color. Plus the weather drops down a bit so to avoid catching chills as a result of the shifting weather, grab a hot jacket, look hot and roll with the Fall season.
Athleisure? Fashion or fitness fad? I like them all! I am not picky or choosy when it comes to fashion- it all comes with the mood like sometimes I am in the mood for JUST fashion, or sometimes just fitness, it all depends with the flow and vibe of things, but recently I am definitely more into the fashion spectrum, probably because of all the fashion shows going on in fall, who knows?
Within the industry, who is your modeling inspiration? Adriana Lima! She’s basically my twin I get a lot of comments saying how I strong resemble her in appearance; she’s a doll! Not only is she a top notch gorgeous model, but she also has a very humble, meek and pleasant personality, she doesn’t let status cripple her approach to being a good person.
What is your workout and fitness secret to staying in shape? Very easy- I have a caloric deficient. If you spend less than you make, you will have money, or in this case, a caloric deficit. I am a huge fan of boxing, hot yoga, running and pylo, and I eat a very clean Paleo diet. Perhaps one of the most important methods to my madness is my eating schedule, I do not eat till noon and I finish eating at 6pm through a method called intermittent fasting, which helps maximize your peak metabolic times to best enhance digestion and bodily function.
Another factor is my BEST friend in this game- an app called “Fitness Pal” in which I religiously document what I eat, the weight, and the portion, having a journal absolutely keeps you on track as snacking can often be overlooked and you could have eaten more than you originally thought. Last but not least its all about consistency and tenacity, making fitness part of your daily lifestyle and not just a hobby will yield you lifetime results! It also doesn’t hurt the fact I was a varsity high school athlete and I am still a certified personal trainer and nutritionist.
What would you say is your best feature? Ha, well- being in great shape gives you great shapes all around, so it is hard to say but the winner is perhaps my legs, people admire how long yet muscular they are, but tied with that is my eyes as they are hazel but also green and change colors depending on the environment so it often mystifies people as to what my true eye color is.
Any future projects coming down the pipeline? YES! Currently working on getting published in Playboy, Maxim, more FHM, to name a few and also representing online bikini brands and fashion lines on IG. Not only that but I have started dipping my foot more into the acting world as well, especially reality TV- few projects coming through that angle as well.
Outside of modeling, what are your hobbies? Great question! I love to travel, read, enhance my knowledge, experiences and my life. Trying new places to eat which serve healthy options are great too, I am also a shopaholic so experimenting new fashions and discovering new boutiques is definitely one of my favorite activities.
Another thing about me is I am a low key nerd- I love to write deep analogies about life as well as action fictions; I am also self taught in photoshop so I do like to produce digital images.
Sports question: Who are your favorite teams and clubs Haha! this is a funny one, although I am extremely active and into fitness, I really don’t tune into sports, all I know is Team USA all the way. I think everyone gets too fanatical about sports and it becomes too much of a fad.
What advice would you give to women aspiring to get into modeling? First- make sure its something you REALLY want. Contrary to popular thought, it’s much more than taking hot, or cute pics its about all the work that goes into play to produce that certain image. Modeling involves eating a certain way, pertaining to a certain routine, and really showing passion for the craft as the camera sees things as they are, you can fool the human eye but not the camera, so when you are in front of the camera you must be passionate, open raw; think of it as making love to the camera and your images will pop!
Also important is to find your niche, what kind of modeling best compliments or look or further than that, what do you love? Remember it is not a cake walk so it does require tenacity, you have to persist and you will manifest what you persist on, but you have to keep at it and aggressively purse this passion as modeling is an over saturated market; so claw your way in ladies but go in with proper knowledge, preparation, and desire to make this work.
