Softcore porn, b-level adult content, etc. Everyone has an opinion and stance when it comes to boudoir.

Derived from the French word for private bedroom, “boudoir” is quickly gaining a following for it’s artfully seductive style of photography of models clad in lingerie—or nothing—in a bedroom-style setting.

Many in today’s overly-sensitive era of toxic masculinity and #MeToo feel that it’s either voyeurism and misogynist or darkly seductive and intoxicating, one is entitled to their own opinion. Some call it art other’s call it exploitation, personally, I feel it is the most form of modeling, as it combines the best of intimacy—while leaving just enough to the imagination.

One man’s trash is another’s treasure, that is how I personally feel about boudoir.

In capturing a woman’s deepest and most open moments of vulnerability and sexual magnetism, both the art nude and boudoir styles capture the female form in perhaps it’s best and most visually appealing state.

One such woman who has helped elevate both boudoir and art nude genres into a higher form of artistic modeling is Southern-born red-haired beauty Anastasia-Eve Sabil.

Also know as AnaEve, the statuesque 5’8 redhead had modeled for online platforms such as Girl Fight Magazine, Kinkd Mag and MFM’s Boudoir Dairies just to name a few. When she is not showing off her natural beauty, the seemingly ageless AnaEve is kicking it in SoCal managing dj and freestyle rap events in Los Angeles. A proud and fierce proponent of her art and the notion of nudity and art modeling becoming more main stream, AnaEve pulls no punches in being unapologetic about it.

And she shouldn’t.

Below is my Q and A with AnaEve as we talk about the rise of boudoir and art nude modeling, Instagram “models”, being artful, classy and stylish and living a drama-free lifestyle.

Happy New Year! How did you spend it, and what did you do? Any New Year’s resolutions? I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, and I love to sleep any chance I get. I stay extremely busy and I happily hide from the chaos on busy holidays. I am happy to see Australia celebrate their new year, have some hot tea, and go to bed by 9pm. Lol

Tell us all a little about you? Above all in my life, I am a mom of three really awesome boys. I have background in business and medical which helps me as a corrective exercise specialist as well as surviving the injuries of my children. I keep a strict diet and avoid stress at all costs.

What type of modeling do you do?(fashion, glamour, art, bikini, lingerie, etc.) I am multi genre! I get bored doing the same thing all the time. I will not do any open leg, porn, cam girl work. I keep my work beautiful, artistic, and classy.

Any big plans or projects in the works for 2019? I will be traveling much more this year and have several big things in the works that I don’t want to jinx by bragging or talking about. I like to keep things quiet till they happen.

Who inspired you to get into modeling? I started modeling at a young age with my best friend. I did it on and off for years and when I had my children, they came first. Now that they are older, I am getting back into what I love. I have always loved being the center of attention. Never really had a role model honestly. Just myself.

Thoughts on the rise in popularity of modeling on Instagram? You mean “instagram models”?! Well, I think we all deserve to feel sexy and beautiful and there is not one size, shape, style, or color in modeling. I personally do not like everything I see and often miss the “beauty”, but to each their own. I am happy for them to be happy with what they do and how they decide to express themselves. Honestly, I find tons of paid work and really awesome photographers through FB and IG!

Thoughts on the current #MeToo movement and how it’s affecting models, modeling and feminism. OMG! (eye roll) I am honestly over all the drama and have no personal opinion to share as it is usually not the same of most and I prefer to avoid the hate mail. #dramafree I have the same view about discussing politics. I would rather talk about doughnuts, kittens, and the beach.

As one who is a art, nude and boudoir model, what are your thoughts on the rise of boudoir? HAHA! I didn’t realize it was on the rise! What is on the rise is a bunch of horny and creepy guys with cameras that call themselves a photographer.

Is there a difference between art and nude modeling? If so, what is it? Artistic nude gives celebration to the body and with nude modeling, the audience and “feeling” tends to be different. Artistic is really about the human form and it’s beauty, often in nature though myself and many others have done some stunning work in studio too. Nude work is often sexualized. I have done some that is less artistic but I do not like to be sexualized very much. I absolutely do not tolerate any comments being sexual on any of my pages. I expect to be respected no matter how much or how little clothing I have on. There is more to me than my DD chest.

There seems to be a growing underground popularity in nude modeling and it becoming more mainstream. What are your thoughts on this? I was not aware that it was underground. #playboy #hustler I guess because I am right in the middle of it. Nudity should not be taboo in any way. There are many grey areas to how I can explain that and since I have friends in many industries, I will just say… Be proud enough of the work you do that you don’t have to hide it from your family, children included.

I will not tell random people my job because you never know how closed minded or ignorant they may be and I don’t want my children to get any backlash from it. But many of my friends follow my artistic work and support me completely. Honestly, America is one of the big anti nude places. I lived in Hawaii and they are not ashamed of their bodies like people seem to be here in the mainland.

Who were some of your favorite artists growing up? I didn’t follow art growing up. I was too busy studying and sleeping.

Fave designers? I frequently shop through Venus.com but I don’t really care about “fashion” as much as I do what works for me and isn’t stupid expensive. Lol I am sure not everyone who is into fashion is shallow but I really have more important things to be worried about. Like eating, raising kids, and paying bills. Hell, I may not brush my hair for two days and keep it in a bun.

If you could be someone’s artistic muse, who would it be? I would not limit that to one person. Often I become a muse for any photographer I am working with. I only work with people that I connect with and we make amazing art!

Pumpkin spice, Salted Caramel or Peppermint Mocha? Just ew. I am NOT a girly girl by any means. These just scream unhealthy white girl with her name brand yoga pants even though she only looks at yoga pictures on IG with her pretty make-up and curled hair. I make both hot tea and coffee at home with powdered honey. I have no desire to go pay $5 for a single drink. I am too cheap for that. I would rather go to Old Town Temecula Tea and Spice Shop and spend $4 on an oz of tea leaves and relax at home in my pjs.

What is THE one hot fashion item that you must have/or get this season? Athleisure? Fashion or fitness fad? I need riding boots for working with horses. Yes, I scoop poop too. Some waterproof hunting boots would be nice too.

What fashion and fitness tips and trends do you have for looking good and staying in shape in 2019? Definitely stop drinking those coffees! Lol Everyone’s body is different and what works for one, may not work for another. Avoid red meat, dairy, and pork. Focus on lean meats, fruits, veggies, and nuts if you are not allergic to them. One of my favorite snacks is peanut butter and honey.

If you have any medical conditions or injuries, find a corrective exercise specialist to train with, don’t try it alone. The machines at the gym are not what you need by any means. Do more functional exercises, use resistance bands, cables, and free weights. Again, start with a professional with many years of experience so you can build a strong and safe foundation. Do not obsess over the scale.

What is one area that most people overlook—but should—pay attention to more in getting in shape? Their diet. If you eat like crap, you will continue to look and feel like crap.

Fave music? I listen to just about anything but gospel. I do event management with a local DJ in LA and we have rap and freestyle competitions. I have learned a special love for the talents they have…minus the vulgarity that some like to use.

Sports: Any favorite teams, clubs and players? This is where guys might hate me. Lol I have zero desire to watch football, baseball, or golf. I love basketball, tennis, and water polo. My three boys play water polo and it is an extremely difficult sport!

What advice would you give to women aspiring to get into modeling? Wow, that is a hard one. It is a very competitive industry and plenty of fakes out there! Sex trafficking is a big thing and you really need to do full research on who you are going to work for. You need references, examples of work, portfolios, etc. You need to be cautious, ask questions and if they are irritated with you for asking important questions, do NOT work with them! You don’t need a mental crazy guy taking your pictures and losing his patience with you.

You need to build a diverse portfolio and work with many photographers. Build your reputation as a good and reliable model. Absolutely no drinking or drugging the day before or of your job. Honestly, you should not be doing it at all. Keep your morals and your standards. I know people say there everyone has their price, but do not give in for a dollar amount to something you are not comfortable with. You will always regret it and you never know when it may come back and hang over your head if you make it big. Your self respect is more important.
