After a year-long engagement, John Cena and Nikki Bella have ended their relationship and called off the wedding. The WWE couple started dating back in 2012 and became engaged in April of 2017 when Cena purposed to Bella during WrestleMania 33.
While recent rumors and prior evidence of a troubled relationship between the two came to light on E!’s reality show, “Total Bellas”, Cena made a statement that he was, “determined to work through it.”
Confirmation of the couple’s split was posted on Bella’s Instagram account late Sunday, and read, “After much contemplation and 6 years of being together Nikki Bella and John Cena announced today their decision to separate as a couple. While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives.”
