But the umpires fully expect this game to get back underway tonight. When things resume, we will be in extra innings, as the Cubs come up to bat in the top of the 10th. The teams big bats, Kyle Schwarber, Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo are set to bat.
It was a smart move to pull the tarp out, as it would have been a disaster to pause it in the middle of an inning. The momentum could have been firmly in one team’s favor in that case, where bringing the delay in the middle of innings means no one has an edge.

Things appear to be wrapping up rather quickly, and the teams should be back on the field soon. This is good for the Indians, as they do not want to lose pitcher Brian Shaw because of a lengthy delay. The bullpens are set to be a key part of this game during extra innings.
