It took 11 innings but the Hudson Valley Renegades defeated the Lowell Spinners by the score of 8-7 on Wednesday night. The game was back and forth all night until the Renegades put it in the books in walk-off style. The Renegades are coming off a perfect road trip and improve their record to 6-2.

Starting on the mound for Hudson Valley was Jhonleider Salinas. The 6-foot-7 righty was making his second appearance of the season and looked good through four innings. He quickly recorded the first two outs in the fifth before a two-out rally by the Spinners put a three spot on the board and knocked Salinas out of the game.

The Renegades brought their momentum from their road trip back to The Dutch where they logged eight runs on 12 hits Wednesday night. Vidal Brujan had a huge night for the Renegades with a double, two singles and three runs scored. Emilio Gustave, Oscar Rojas, and Isaac Benard had multi-hit games of their own in the victory.

The first big hit of the night came off the bat of Gustave with a runner on first in the seventh inning. With the Renegades down 5-3, Gustave launched a line drive to left field that cleared the fence and knotted the game at five.

Both the Renegades and Spinners’ bullpens would keep the game at bay until the 11th when the Spinners pushed across two runs to take the lead. Matt Eureste got the rally started for the Renegades with a leadoff walk in the bottom half of the inning, and Benard followed it up with a single.a huge throwing error by Spinners first baseman Raiwinson Lameda brought both runners home to tie the game.

Brujan continued his hot night by putting the ball in play and reached on a huge throwing error by Spinners first baseman Raiwinson Lameda. The error brought both runs in to score and sent Brujan, the winning run, all the way to third. Zacrey Law sent the home crowd home happy with a walk-off sac fly to center field.

Wednesday night’s win marks four in the row for the Renegades who now sit at 6-2 on the young season. Garrett Fulenchek was credited with the win while Juan Florentino took the blown save and the loss. The Renegades and the Spinners will meet again at Dutchess Stadium on Thursday night.
