Dez Bryant
INSCMagazine: Get Social!

Doug Rush of Giants Wire reported earlier today the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins and New York Giants all reportedly have expressed “zero interest” in former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and have no plans to pursue him in free agency.

I guess that puts an end to any speculation Bryant will remain in the NFC East division even though he reportedly told Cowboys’ management he would see them more than once with his new team. Each team in the NFC East could make a legitimate case for adding Dez Bryant to their roster, but other than The Redskins, with Daniel Snyder pulling the purse strings, I cannot see that happening.

Also, as we all know, just because a team states it will not pursue a player in free agency, it does not mean the organization has closed the door completely on making a move to better the product on the field.

Per Steve DelVecchio of Larry Brown Sports, the Jacksonville Jaguars have at least one player who is already lobbying for Bryant to join the team. All Pro cornerback has made a case for the former All-Pro wide receiver to join the team, adding depth to the wide receiving unit.

On his Twitter account, Ramsey made a simple plea… “@DezBryant come on to the @Jaguars.”

This isn’t the first time Ramsey, who has become one of the top players at his position in the NFL in only his second season in the league, has taken to social media to express his feelings about players being part of the Jacksonville Jaguars organization. He was outspoken in trying to get a new contract done for former Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson and was equally aggressive in putting his best foot forward for cornerback Aaron Colvin.

Both players signed elsewhere in the offseason.

Will having someone like Ramsey pitch the idea of bringing in Dez Bryant help the free agent’s cause? It all depends on how general manager David Caldwell and executive vice president Tom Coughlin view the need to add potentially a high-priced player who may not like the hot and cold style of Bortles behind center.

“The Jaguars lost both Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns in free agency this offseason, so they could certainly use a No. 1 receiver,” DelVecchio wrote. “It makes sense for them to feature a run-first offense as long as they have Leonard Fournette and Blake Bortles, but having someone like Bryant to stretch the field would make them that much more balanced.”

The Jaguars added Donte Moncrief in free agency and re-signed Marqise Lee to a new deal.

Dez Bryant has potentially already hinted at which team he might sign with, but he is sure to hear recruiting pitches — both public and private — from players across the league. I suspect the Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots, Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Indianapolis Colts, Redskins and Jaguars all have him on their radar.
