Berlin, Germany.

The present-day capital of Germany and one-time Cold War city of political intrigue, espionage and proverbial dividing point between the East and the West, has emerged from the war-torn ruins of it’s shady past and into a modern-day cosmopolitan mecca of creativity and high-tech savvy.

With a population of roughly three and a half, Berlin has now emerged as one of the hottest and newest fashion places to be, thanks to the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, which happens every January and July.

One of Europe’s biggest fashion events for emerging fashion designers, entrepreneurs and models alike, it has gained tremendous international recognition around the world. One of those models who has been featured, and is one of the hottest in-demand alternative models, is none other than French-born stunner Lapis Lazuli.

Thanks to a stunning petite figure, mesmerizing tattoos and magnetic blue eyes, the 5’3 native of the Parisian suburb of Meudon, is a veteran of Fashion Week and La Fashion Week de Paris (Paris Fashion Week), has also been featured in popular German women’s magazine, Brigitte

With upcoming projects on the horizon, and a flourishing career as one of the top alternative and inked models in Europe, the future is as bright as it is beautiful for Mademoiselle Lazuli.

Below is my Q and A with Ms. Lazuli as we talk modeling, photography, fashion shows and her love of her beloved Les Bleus.

Robert D. Cobb: Which one do you enjoy modeling for the most?

Lapis Lazuli: “I work now for different agencies and move all the time in Germany, UK and in my country of France. Soon for different reasons…it could be for a professional photographer, website, cyber commerce, or TFP project. I like all kinds of projects. I love Fashion Week, We can’t cheat, that’s the field!”

Robert D. Cobb: Where has been your favorite place to shoot?

Lapis Lazuli: “I think the Adlon Kempiski Berlin Hotel for the location. And it was the atmosphere and positive energy with the photographer which defined my choice. A beautiful human adventure in a short time. We did our best in two hours, a race, perfect teamwork.”

Robert D. Cobb: What is the most exciting aspect of modeling?

Lapis Lazuli: “To stay in a way of creative. To be a beautiful model is not essential. Show emotions, send something positive, be credible, at the end of the work, the picture does not have to stay beautiful, it has to talk and send a message.”

Robert D. Cobb: With colder weather right around the corner, what fashion and style tips and trends do you have for looking good when the temperature drops?

Lapis Lazuli: “Have good socks! LOL!”

Robert D. Cobb: Within the industry, who is your inspiration?

Lapis Lazuli: “No hesitation, Patrick Demarchelier, not only cause he’s French, he’s one of the best mode photographer in the world I think. He realizes the best portraits, authentics, and knows how to capture the best with emotions included.”

Robert D. Cobb: What is your secret to staying in shape?

Lapis Lazuli: “I look after myself I can’t lie about that. I run a lot it helps too. I eat with no excess and at 30, its not too easy than when I was 20. LOL!”

Robert D. Cobb: Outside of modeling, what are your hobbies?

Lapis Lazuli: “I’m an amateur photographer for ten years, I started modeling because of this passion. My birthday present was a Canon 500D and a few months later, I participated in a photography workshop session in France, for improving my technical knowledge. At the end, the teacher asked me to pose for them.”

Sports question: Who are your favorite teams and clubs?

Lapis Lazuli: “It depends! If it’s rugby for example, I will say “Le XV de France” for sure! For football “Les Bleus” (not totally original for a French woman). I like (Atletico Madrid) forward Antoine Griezmann! He is totally the French Guy style!”

Robert D. Cobb: What are your favorite cities to travel to?

Lapis Lazuli: “Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, New York, Berlin…You have always something to do, to discover…and share with People…(they are very) cosmopolitan. I love meeting new people, share experiences, share a glass of good wine (French Culture), we can learn a lot about ourself with people.”

Robert D. Cobb: What advice would you give to women aspiring to get into modeling?

Lapis Lazuli: “Believe in their dreams and work a lot with passion, and with happiness. Always.”
