  1. Nice article — but don’t forget about yourself — or co-workers. In addition to gerber daisies being a flower to express joyful sentiment, there’s also the sunflower. If you’re a manager or supervisor, show your team you care by dropping a single sunflower stem in a bud vase and it will convey that you appreciate them. The stem will last at least a week, especially if you use a little flower food in the water (get a packet of food when you buy your sunflowers – or gerber daisies). I do this about every 2 or 3 weeks and I can tell in little ways my staff really appreciate the gesture and enjoy the flowers. It just sits on their desks and “smiles at them.” Get yourself one too!
