You know the old saying, what a difference that a year makes. That couldn’t be more accurate in describing Los Angeles Rams quarterback, Jared Goff.

Goff, taken number one overall out of Cal in the 2016 NFL Draft, looked and played more like Jared Goof than the top pick in completing close to 55 percent of his passes for 1,089 yards, five touchdowns, seven interceptions and a QB rating of 63.6

Again, what a difference a year makes.

No more of Jeff Fisher and his Neanderthal-era Stone Age offense, and in comes a fresh and wide-eyed young coach in former Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Sean McVay from the Washington Redskins, and suddenly Goff looks like Kirk Cousins West Coast twin.

Through three games, Goff has completed 70.4 percent of his passes for 817 yards, five touchdowns and only one interception. While it is just a small sample size, but Goff actually looks like a potential franchise QB, as his yards per completion (10.09) and QB rating (118.2) have far exceeded those of his rookie season.

While Goff did also acquire playmakers such as Robert Woods and Sammy Watkins, the still 22-year-old from Novato, California looks the part of the face of the Rams storied franchise.

Currently, Goff is on pace to pass for 4,357 yards and 27 touchdowns. While we are only three games into the season, Goff is finally giving both the Rams and Los Angeles something to build around for the future.

In their two wins, the Rams have scored 87 points, averaging 43.5 points a game, with Goff as the main triggerman in passing for 598 yards and five touchdowns.

At 2-1, the Rams may be the most underrated good team in the NFL that no one is talking about. and while most will talk about their rock-solid defense led by Pro Bowl tackle Aaron Donald and Pro Bowl running back Todd Gurley, but Goff may be the best young under-the-radar quarterback right now that no one is talking about.

How is it that Goff is under the radar when taken No.1 overall and playing in the second-largest media market, you ask?

Simple. Dak Prescott, Carson Wentz, Deshaun Watson, Mitchell Trubisky and to an extent DeShone Kizer are seen as the new faces of the NFL, destined to carry the league for the next decade.

Thanks to his currently level of play, one can surely add Goff to that list of those set to take the league into a new and exciting era.
