Time to head out west. The Los Angeles Rams will head to the desert to take on divisional foes, the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams are coming off a game where they exploded for 38 points, in a victory against the Tampa Bay Bucs. Meanwhile, Carson Palmer and the Cardinals had a game to forget in week three, as the team got picked apart on the road against the Buffalo Bills to the tune of 33-18.

Somehow, someway, the Rams are 2-1. After looking as terrible as they did in their opening game against the 49ers, the Rams have won two straight. I have no idea where last weeks 37 point explosion came from but do not overlook some important information. Despite that monster outburst a week ago, their offense was still terrible for the first two weeks. They are the worst team in yards per game in the league and 31st in passing yards. Let’s pair that with being 29th in points and you have arguably the worst offense in the NFL. The defense has some nice pieces, but in two games on the road this season, the club has allowed 60 total points. This week they just so happen to be on the road, facing a team that is going to be pissed from last week.

If you thought it was surprising to see the Rams score over 30 points after not scoring a touchdown in two weeks, then you were also likely surprised by the fact that the Bills ran all over the Cardinals a week ago. LeSean McCoy had a field day for the Bills, who also were all over Carson Palmer. Those two factors led to the Cardinals loss. But now the club is back home, and I would imagine after what McCoy did, the club will put a ton of emphasis on stopping Gurley this week. The Rams cannot throw the ball, so the Cards have no reason not to stack the box.

As a result, expect a better Cardinals offense, plus a defense that knows what they need to do. The Rams over achieved a week ago and are due to come back down to Earth this week. It is very hard to picture the Rams at 3-1, and the Cards at 1-3. Eight and a half is a lot to cover, but with all of these factors weighing in, I think they can pull it off.
