The Washington Redskins are hosting the Minnesota Vikings in week 10 NFL action on Sunday. All the information to tune into this game is listed below.

The Washington Redskins are rested and coming off their bye week. They face a Minnesota Vikings team in week 10 that has seen its season turnaround, the wrong way. The Redskins are sitting currently as the 6th seed in the playoffs. They need to improve on that and a victory Sunday will help. This is a prime game them to do it in. Here are 3 keys for a Redskins victory on Sunday.

Stop the Vikings Run Game

An old friend of the Washington Redskins returned in week 8. A Swiss cheese run defense was partly to blame for the tie in London. If the Cincinnati Bengals would have run the ball more we would be talking about a Redskins loss and not a tie. But in any case, the Washington Redskins need to stop teams from running the ball and improve on their 26th league ranking.

Run “Fat Rob” Run

The Minnesota Vikings are the 8th ranked run defense in the league. Some might say that this will not make it easy for the Redskins to run the ball on Sunday. Also, the Redskins will be without their star left tackle, Trent Williams. However, as I have said all year it is not the quality but the quantity of the run game. And besides, Rob Kelley is a little tougher than Matt Jones. Kelley rarely goes down after the first contact and can usually find himself getting positive yardage. Let Kelley get his due yardage and that will open up your play action to the tight ends and receivers down field.

Penalties

The second ugly thing that lost the game in London for the Washington Redskins were penalties. Now I have to say that the London game was probably one of the most ticky-tack games I have ever seen called in the NFL. There was just way too many plays called, on both sides that are normally let go in the NFL. This can be self-controlled by the Redskins, however. In their late-season run of 2015, the penalties were non-existent. We need to see that again.

This game is very winnable for the Washington Redskins. They can dominate defensively if they choose to do so. The Vikings are without both of their starting tackles. The last time Ryan Kerrigan went against a backup tackle he dominated the line of scrimmage. Take advantage of that again. ALWAYS HTTR!!!
