the language of a proposed five-year, $35 million contract still needs to be worked out between Rivers and the Clippers before any agreement will be in place. However, this is the closest the longtime negotiations have been to actually being agreed upon.
The NBA still needs to approve the deal, however this appears legal under the CBA because no players are involved simultaneously in the Rivers negotiations.
