Eric Gordon probably would have had a better start to his career if injuries weren’t a problem with him.

Gordon, a shooting guard out of Indiana, proved to be an elite guard that could dominate in the NBA. At Indiana, Gordon averaged 20.9 PPG for the Hoosiers, and in 2008, entered the NBA Draft, where he would be drafted by the Clippers with the seventh pick in the first round.

In Los Angeles, Gordon had an impressive run with the Clippers which lasted from 2008-2011 up until the Clippers gave up on him and dealt to New Orleans for perennial All-Star point guard, Chris Paul.

Gordon played a season in New Orleans until the off-season when he faced difficulty with his knee, causing him to miss a large amount of time. After the Paul deal, New Orleans went into a re-building process which is showing to be a good move in drafted shooting guard Austin Rivers and forward/center Anthony Davis and had a successful off-season acquiring All-Star point guard, Jrue Holiday from Philadelphia in a draft-night trade of the rights to Norlens Noel.

Gordon seems to be the–or one of the center pieces–of the franchise, but with his recent string of injuries, will Gordon keep his talents with the Pelicans, or will he leave? Earlier in the week, there were reports of a Gordon deal, but no evidence proves that. We’ll have to wait and see.

What are your thoughts on Eric Gordon staying in the Big Easy with the New Orleans Pelicans?
