[dropcap]A[/dropcap]fter choosing between Florida State, Kentucky and North Carolina, Andrew Wiggins decided that his heart was in Kansas by signing with the Jayhawks.

Wiggins, a 6’7 205-pound small forward heralded as the best high school prospect since LeBron James, averaged 23.6 points, 11.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists for West Virginia powerhouse, Huntington Prep.

The 18-year old native of Toronto joins a stacked No. 2 recruiting class in Lawrence that will feature Wayne Seden, Conner Frankamp, Brannen Greene, Frank Mason and that nation’s top-ranked center in Joel Embid.

With Kentucky set to lose the projected No.1 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft in Nerlens Noel, Michigan losing Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr and Miami losing Shane Larkin to the NBA, does the addition of Wiggins make Kansas the team to beat in 2014?

Hard to tell now, but based on the Jayhawks incoming class, it wouldn’t be hard to make the argument for Kansas being the pre-season No.1

For Jayhawks head coach Bill Self, losing Ben McLemore to the upcoming NBA Draft may not be so bad after all if he can land the top-ranked prospect in return.
