With Kyle Allen and Trevor Knight both leaving their respective universities, what is next for the former Oklahoma and Texas A&M quarterbacks?

Allen, a highly coveted recruit who chose Texas A&M and enrolled early in the spring of 2014. But with fellow 5 star QB Kyler Murray coming to College Station a QB controversy occurred, one that Allen got pushed aside despite his solid numbers.

Allen threw for 16 touchdowns and seven interceptions in five starts as a true freshman in 2014. He showed signs of potential and command. This past season he was performing at the same steady pace, which didn’t impress Aggies HC Kevin Sumlin. Murray has since won the job going forward. But rumors of his possible transfer have occurred.

Sumlin really mishandled this situation with Allen and Murray, Murray has appeal because of his Johnny Manziel-type ability as a game-changer.

Allen had a statement that he released via his Twitter page thanking Texas A&M for his time at the school. Star WR Christian Kirk also left him “Good Luck” via Twitter

Allen leaves A&M with 14 career starts with a record of 9-5. There are also no schools that jump out for Allen, but Arizona State could pop up as they could prove to sway him. Either way, he’s sitting out the 2016 season and there will be more info in the coming weeks.

Knight, on the other hand has been in a different circumstance. The University of Oklahoma gave Knight a full release from the program; this makes him eligible to play in 2016 for any FBS team of his choice.

Knight was a junior this past season, a redshirt junior. This will essentially in a similar position that Jake Rudock was in this point last season when he left Iowa for Michigan.

Trevor Knight may likely stay in the Big 12, according to reports but Knight has spoken with Kansas State, Oregon, SMU, and Georgia. At all four schools he would likely be the uncontested starter since he will only play one year.

I would personally like to add Michigan, Cal, and possibly LSU because those schools will have QB questions for certain. Knight handled this with the utmost class and definitely deserves a chance.
