When one associates a single phrase to the iconic brand Nike it’s the slogan of “just do it.” That advertisment is now celebrating 30 years and will feature former San Franciso 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

The message is simple, yet profound. It states “believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”

It’s amazing how many times a backup quarterback has been signed by an NFL team and the sports media takes to social media that it wasn’t Kaepernick joining a roster. He has sued in the NFL for collusion and last week won a summary judgment against the league.

Shockingly Kaepernick looked like his old self in the last eight games of 2016. Showcasing to teams that needed a quareterback what he is able to do with his arms and legs. He threw for 1,513 yards, 12 touchdowns and only two interceptions and completed 62.5 percent of his passes. He also ran the ball 47 times for 295 yards and two touchdowns. If it weren’t for one of the worst defenses in San Francisco’s history there were chances of picking up a few more wins.

Though he didn’t play in 2017, Nike still had an endorsement deal with Kaepernick.

Nike’s vice president of brand for North America, Gino Fisanotti said “we believe Colin is one of the most inspirational athletes of this generation, who has leveraged the power of sport to help move the world forward.”
