The San Francisco 49ers equaled the Kansas City Chiefs for the most players selected to the Pro Bowl with eight and five more as alternates.

On offense left tackle Joe Staley, left guard Mike Iupati, tight end Vernon Davis and running back Frank Gore and for the defense linebackers NaVorro BowmanPatrick Willis and Ahmad Brooks and defensive end Justin Smith. Alternates include wide receiver Anquan Boldin, guard Alex Boone, free safety Eric Reid, punter Andy Lee and on special teams C.J. Spillman. Of course the hope is to avoid the trip to Hawaii and get to the Super Bowl instead.

Here’s a look at the 2013 season numbers so far:

Gore has rushed for 1,114 yards on 263 carries while averaging 4.2 yards per carry, with a long of 51 and has scored nine touchdowns. He’s also caught 16 passes for 141 yards and a long of 29.

Davis has caught 49 passes for 805 yards, averages 16.4 yards per reception, a long of 64 and 12 touchdowns.

Iupati and Staley anchor one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL as the 49ers rank second in attempts and touchdowns, third in yards and 10th in yards per carry.

Bowman recently put himself in one of the best moments in Candlestick Park history with his game sealing interception return for a touchdown and on the season has recorded a total of 135 tackles, four sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and eight passes defended.

Willis has recorded 98 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles and one pass defended.

Brooks stepped up after Aldon Smith checked himself into rehab and on the season has recorded 57 tackles, eight-and-a-half sacks, one forced fumble, an interception and seven passes defended.

Smith continues to do impressive work in the trenches and has registered 49 tackles, six-and-a-half sacks and a forced fumble.
