Amidst the glory of March Madness, movie fans were treated to a nice surprise, as the word laid witness to the first trailer for Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation. The film, which stars Tom Cruise, is the fifth in the franchise, and is the follow-up to the 2011 blockbuster Ghost Protocol.

While we will get a heavy dose of Cruise in the film, be on the lookout for up-and-coming actress Rebecca Ferguson, who is slowly becoming a fixture in Hollywood cinema.

You may know Ferguson from her role as Ergenia in the 2014 hit, Hercules, where she starred alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. This was indeed the first major Hollywood picture for Ferguson, but it wasn’t the only noteworthy project for the 31-year-old actress.

Rebecca Ferguson also starred in the short-lived Starz series, The White Queen, playing Queen Elizabeth/Elizabeth Woodville.

Ferguson didn’t train to be an actress. In fact, she studied music at Adolf Fredrik’s Music School in Stockholm. Despite her success, Ferguson doesn’t enjoy the city life. She currently lives with her boyfriend and child on a small beach town along the Swedish coast.

While City life might not be for Ferguson, she is certainly growing beyond her small town roots, and is turning into quite the action star. It was reported that she spent four weeks training for her role in Rogue Nation, learning everything from martial arts to guns, the latter of which Ferguson took an extreme liking to.

When speaking to USA Today, Ferguson spoke on her new found love for firearms.

“They had to rip it out of my hand at the end – I just loved it. There’s a crazy empowerment to holding a gun like that, which I question morally, since I always called myself a pacifist.”

It’s not likely that Ferguson will go back to her seaside home on the Swedish coast and take up shooting as a hobby. Although as a result of her starring role in Mission Impossible, her stock in the acting word is likely going to shoot up through the Hollywood ranks.
