PHILADELPHIA – On the night that Allen Iverson announced his retirement from the NBA, Philadelphia may have found their point guard of the future in Michael Carter-Williams.

Carter-Williams, a rookie out of Syracuse, set the NBA record for most steals in a debut, in leading the Sixers to a 104-100 win over the defending NBA champion, Miami Heat.

In addition to becoming recording the second-most assists in a career debut in NBA history, Carter-Williams would also become the third player in NBA history to record a near quadruple-double in scoring 22 points, 12 assists, nine steals and seven rebounds.
