It was another wild affair for the Phillies and Giants on Sunday. The Phillies had Jeremy Hellickson on the bump and southpaw Matt Moore went to work for the Giants. Neither player became a positive storyline in this game as the offenses came out blazing trails for the afternoon rubber game.

After Eduardo Nunez launched his third homer of the 2017 campaign, Philly got to work in the bottom half of the first inning.

Odubel Herrera and Howie Kendrick each catapulted RBI doubles to deep center field. The Phitin’ Phils received some insurance in the 2nd, as Freddy Galvis roasted Matt Moore for a two-run home run and just like that Philly was up 4-1.

The Giants kept fighting as they scored twice in the third, sixth and seventh inning. Branden Crawford gathered four RBI in the ballgame and smacked his fourth dinger of the season off Hellickson in the 6th inning.

Hellickson lasted 5.1 innings and surrendered four hits, three runs and four walks. Two runs were unearned as Tommy Joseph committed his fifth error of the season.

Matt Moore pitched four innings, allowed four runs and six hits. One run was unearned due to Nunez committing his fifth error of the 2017 campaign.

The Phils were down 7-6 going into the bottom of the seventh, that’s when Herrera got his 20th RBI of the year as he collected a double off of Josh Osich.

Maikel Franco and Freddy Galvis took Pittsburgh native, Derek Law deep in the eighth inning. Hector Neris set the Giants down 1-2-3 in the ninth, earning his fifth save.

The Phillies are now 19-35 and begin a four-game series with the Atlanta Braves on Monday night at SunTrust Park. This is the Phils’ first series win since taking two from Miami in late April.

San Francisco moves to 23-35 on the year. They will begin a four-game series with the Brewers starting Monday at Miller Park.
