Now that he has been released by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Allen Hurns is a wanted man. Per several reports, there are a handful of NFL teams interested in the wide receiver who was set to make $7 million this coming season. According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Browns are one of four teams that have shown the most interest in the Hurns.

“ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported Thursday morning that the Browns are one of several teams interested in the fifth-year pro,” Cabot writes.

“The others are the Cowboys, Jets, and Ravens.”

The source said no visit has been scheduled with the Browns yet. The Browns could use another set of hands to catch footballs from Tyrod Taylor or the quarterback Cleveland selects in the first round of next month’s NFL Draft.

Allen Hurns (6-3, 201), had a breakout season in 2015 with 1,031 yards and 10 TDs, but missed 11 games over the past two seasons and was limited to 961 yards and five TDs combined. He was an undrafted free agent when he signed with the Jaguars in 2014. It was the same draft class that produced quarterback Blake Bortles, wide receivers Allen Robinson and Marqise Lee, cornerback Aaron Colvin, linebacker Telvin Smith and center Brandon Linder.

The Browns have also expressed interest in re-signing Terrelle Pryor, but the two sides are far apart on the numbers, the Jets and Seahawks appear to be the frontrunners.

The Jets, however, will host Hurns today after visiting with Pryor over the past two days.

The 26-year-old Miami native played college football at the University of Miami from 2010 to 2013. During his collegiate career, he started 26 of 45 games and had 121 receptions for 1,891 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Hurricanes. As a senior, he won the Jack Harding Award as the Hurricanes Most Valuable Player after setting the Hurricanes single-season receiving yards record with 1,162.

For his career in the NFL, Allen Hurns has 189 catches for 2,669 yards and 21 touchdowns.
