Coming off of UFC 202 that saw Conor McGregor defeat Nate Diaz and on the cusp of UFC 203 that will see the long awaited debut of former WWE superstar CM Punk. Fans of the UFC are eagerly trying to figure out who will be on the historic card of UFC 205 at MSG this fall. This will be the first MMA event in New York.

One name being thrown around was Ronda Rousey who has not been in the octagon for the last nine months. The last time we saw, Ronda Rousey was on November 15, 2015 when she lost to Holly Holms at UFC 193. This was her first lost after having to go on three straight years of being the top of the woman’s card of UFC. However, she won’t be making her return this fall to UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

UFC President Dana White made the announcement today that Ronda Rousey won’t be fighting at UFC 205. He would assure UFC fans that Rousey will fight again, but as he would tell the “UFC Unfiltered” podcast it will not take place in New York. He said, “ She’s for sure not going to fight in New York. “ He also added that he was going to be putting the New York card together this week. So it will be known soon who will be on the historic card.

There have been several UFC fighters who have publicly requested to be on the card on November 12. This will be the first UFC event in New York since the ban on professional mixed martial arts was lifted earlier this year. The bad has been around since 1997.

Back in June while doing an interview on ESPN’s Sportscenter, she mentioned she had a minor procedure on her knee and hoped to back in the octagon by the end of 2016. It should be noted that the UFC has two pay-per-views are scheduled in December.

UFC 206 is on December 10th, and UFC 207 is on December 30th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The T-Mobile Arena recently hosted UFC 200, which saw a returning Brock Lesnar defeat Mark Hunt. This match ended up being surrounded by a bit of controversy. I think it all depends on how she feels and then go from there. It would have been nice to see her return at UFC 205, but it gives someone else a chance on the biggest stage.
