The Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate to the Texas Rangers, are finally coming home! After eight games on the road, over nine days, the RoughRiders have an eight-game homestand coming up. Beginning on Monday, May 15, Frisco will have eight days of fun themes and promos for fans. This coming week will be just as exciting as the Home Opening week! Be sure to grab your tickets now (at RidersBaseball.com), and get in on this incredibly fun stretch of games! Here’s what the RoughRiders have going:
Monday: Kids Eat Free
The RoughRiders are taking on the Midland Rockhounds. This affiliate of the Oakland A’s will start off the Frisco homestand. Be sure to bring your kids, as they will eat for FREE! That’s right. All kids (12 and under) will receive a voucher good for a hotdog, chips, and Dr. Pepper product or water. First pitch is at 7:05 PM CT. Get your tickets before all the other parents and kids grab them all up!
Tuesday: Taco Tuesday
Who doesn’t know about Taco Tuesday? It’s practically an unspoken holiday every week! The RoughRiders are helping you celebrate the festivities with $2 tacos throughout the entire game. Additionally, for those 21 years and up, you can indulge in select $3 beers and half-price margaritas (from 6 PM to 8 PM). Kids eating free on Monday, everyone getting Tacos on Tuesday… there’s nothing like great food and baseball!
Wednesday: Weiner Wednesday
The name says it all. Getting a hotdog at the ballpark is a must! Every baseball fan knows that. Head out to Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, for $1 hotdogs! It’ll be going on during the whole RoughRiders game. This amazing deal is brought to you by Texas Chili Company. Those folks are practically guaranteeing you a great day at the ballpark. First pitch is at 11:05 PM, so have your lunch appetite ready!
Thursday: Thirsty Thursday/Lazy River Pool Party
As the Midland Rockhounds make their final appearance against the RoughRiders, Frisco has two awesome promotions! First and foremost, Thirsty Thursday is in effect. It’s good for $1 domestic draft beers, $2 craft and import beers, $3 Stella Rosa wine, and $1 Dr. Pepper products (from 6 PM to 8 PM). As you’re drinking responsibly, you can watch the RoughRiders handle business on the diamond.
In addition to getting your drink on, you can get your swim on! The newly-heated Choctaw Lazy River can be enjoyed, for just $39. Fans can float the river and enjoy an all-you-can-eat menu featuring: hot dogs, brats, peanuts, chips, and Dr. Pepper products. This amazing addition to Dr. Pepper Ballpark was the winner of Ballpark Digest’s 2016 Best Ballpark Improvement. If you haven’t floated the river yet, now is your chance!
Friday: Princesses And Pirates Night
The RoughRiders are hosting the Corpus Christi Hooks. This affiliate of the Houston Astros are going to be intimidated by Friday’s great theme. Think back to when you were little. You probably imagined yourself as a princess or a pirate at one point. On Friday, kids can live out their dreams! The RoughRiders are inviting kids to come to Dr. Pepper Ballpark dressed as their favorite princess or pirate. The first 1,000 kids (12 & under) will receive a free princess wand or pirate sword and eye patch. Little princesses and pirates will also have the opportunity to meet and take a photo with their favorite princess and pirate characters. If that already isn’t getting your little ones excited, be sure to stick around for some fireworks after the game.
Saturday: Military Appreciation
Presented by ABC Pest and Lawn Services, help the RoughRiders honor the military servicemen and women, with discounted $10 tickets available for all military personal. The Riders will wear special military-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off by the RoughRiders Foundation, to benefit Carry The Load. The first 1,500 fans will receive a free RoughRiders military-themed t-shirt. The Post-Game Party features country artist, and Navy veteran, Joey James. It’ll be in the Bull Moose Saloon, where you can enjoy half-price drinks during the show.
Sunday: Take MEOW To The Ballgame
Everyone knows this line, from the traditional seventh inning stretch song. Wait. Actually, this is a bit different. At 4:05 PM, Dr. Pepper Ballpark will be filled with cats! Cats and their owners can enjoy the game on the Kroger Lawn grass berm. The first 200 kitties through the left field and center field gates will receive a free Riders Cat Bandana. In case you were wondering, admission for cats is free. That ALONE makes it worth a trip out to the ballpark!
Sunday’s game is another Choctaw Lazy River Pool Party (see Thursday above), along with Kids Sunday Funday. Kids and their parents or guardians can play catch on the field, up to 35 minutes prior to first pitch. On top of that, you will get to enjoy $1 ice cream sandwiches for the entire game.
Monday: Education Night
Garland ISD employees, students, families, and friends are invited to Garland ISD Night at the Frisco RoughRiders game. Take advantage of $20 all-you-can-eat tickets, which include: unlimited hot dogs, brats, chips, peanuts, Dr. Pepper products, a limited-edition RoughRiders souvenir, RoughRiders game program, and post-game fireworks. A portion of every ticket sold benefits the Garland ISD Education Foundation. Even if you aren’t part of GISD in any way, you’re still encouraged to come and enjoy some amazing RoughRiders action!
