How does possibly the best offensive talent for the past two seasons go unnoticed in College Football? The San Diego State Aztecs and their fans want answers, but the one person who should request them doesn’t seem to care.

RB, Donnel Pumphrey just wants to win, nothing more but in doing so he has managed to put together 2 solid seasons for the Aztecs and currently leads the nation in rushing through the first two games of the 2016 season.

For the past two years, he has rushed for 3,520 yards and 37 TDs, with whopping 6.0 yards per carry. Those stats are not including what he did as a freshman when he rushed for 752 yards with eight TDs. Pumphrey has the stats for Heisman talk, but with players like Derrick Henry ahead of him and playing in a bigger market, it’s a no-win situation.

But 2016 has been different. His name is being brought up in discussions. The Aztecs are 2-0, average 30 points per game and while they may not play any of the bigger conferences, his production still should make a few voters look his way. In two games, he has rushed for an NCAA-leading  379 yards on 50 attempts with an average of 8.0 yards per attempt with four TDs.

If Pumphrey can keep this up he should receive an invite with the rest of CFB best as they all wait to hear they name called. If not chosen, it wouldn’t be the end of the world as he will sure to get a chance to takes his talents to the next. level. The NCAA should view his body of work over his collegiate career and admit their mistake.

If Pumphrey can keep his averages up, by the end of the season he should have over 2,200+ yards and if that was enough to earn Henry his trophy, then it should be enough to get Pumphrey his and a shot at redemption.
