Well despite injuring his ankle in week one, it does sound like Seattle Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson will be a go this week as Seattle hits the road. They are not going far, though, as they travel down to Los Angeles to take on the Rams. Both teams were a letdown in the opening week, but the Seahawks were at least able to come away with a victory, 12-10 over Miami. The Rams were not so lucky, as they were embarrassed 28-0 by the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football.

It is only week two, but this week is going to tell us a lot about the Rams. To put it kindly, they looked dreadful on Monday. Their defense should have picked off so many passes in that game, but the defenders could not hold on to the balls. I know the skill and talent is there on defense, but now they need to show it. A home game against a team that struggled to score week one may be what they need to get jump started. Offensively, they were looked worse than every other team in the NFL last week, as they were the only club to get shutout in week one.

In Seattle, many expected the Seahawks to blow out the Dolphins last week. But in reality, their offense looked poor, and Russell Wilson hurt his ankle. As a result, the Dolphins controlled the lead late in the game, until a Doug Baldwin touchdown saved the day for Seattle. But still, their offense was pretty brutal, and if Wilson ends up leaving any game moving forward with his ankle acting up, and the Seahawks are sure to be looking at an L.

Now last week I bet against the Seahawks, and it paid off. Now conventional wisdom would say anyone should be able to beat the Rams by a touchdown given how poor their offense is. But I do not like to take the easy road sometimes. The Seahawks are not always the same on the road, and this is a divisional game. Pair that with Wilson’s balky ankle, and the fact that I still believe the Rams defense can pull through, and I lean towards the Rams. Now you can bet if the Rams get blown to pieces like last week, I will not pick them again this season. But I am riding with them for one week, and most likely one week only.
