It has been announced Via Adam Schefter of ESPN that Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Le’Veon Bell will be out for six weeks with a Lisfranc Foot Injury. The other picture included is an X-ray of what a Lisfranc foot injury like and as you can tell it isn’t pleasant to say the least.

This will cause Bell to likely be in a boot and unable to run at all not to mention make several short sudden movements that running backs take for granted for and make a lot of money by doing week in and week out. Lisfranc injuries happen for football players occasionally acquire this injury, and it most often occurs when the athlete’s foot is plantar flexed and another player lands on the heel and it either breaks or dislocates the tarsals in their foot.

This will not bode well for Steelers fans as Bell was slated to be the starting running back after being selected in the second round (49th overall) in this year’s NFL Draft. With Bell out for the Steelers will call upon the services of Jonathan Dwyer who despite is entering his forth year in the league, has only carried the ball 181 times for 774 yards and two touchdowns. This could be an extremely down year for the Steelers as they don’t possess the two big traits that brought them an NFL best six Super Bowls, an imposing defense that can stop everything and a ground and pound running attack that would set the standard for the league to follow.

All and all, as any fan of football should hope that Le’Veon Bell has a speedy recovery from an injury that will considerably slow him down for a while.
