Now, I have never been one to be a mouthpiece for women’s rights. Don’t get me wrong, I firmly believe that women and men should be treated equally. That if a woman and man do the same job, they should be paid the same money, and anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot.
But that also doesn’t usually mean that a woman and a man should be totally treated equally. I mean, I am not so sure Tatiana Ali should ever get into a boxing ring with Vitaly Klitchsko. Not for nothing, but there is an inherent difference between the two, that would give the male an unfair advantage.
But notice how I said “usually”. I put that caveat in there because of the world’s dumbest man making the world’s dumbest challenge. UFC Legend Mike “Tank” Abbott came out and said no matter how amazing Rhonda Rousey is, she should NEVER get into the ring with a man, as she would be no match for them.
He then went on to say about Rousey and Floyd Mayweather that “Mayweather would ‘knock the living stuffing’ out of Ronda, and that anyone who believes otherwise doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”
To prove that he is not all talk. Abbott was even willing to put up $100,000 to fight Rousey, with her not even having to put up a penny. BUT, and this is where it really kind of pissed me off, he said if she loses, she has to make him a sandwich.
Are you kidding me?!?!? Don’t we have enough crap to put up with in the world without having Abbott making stupid comments? I mean he may have been a good UFC fighter, but I would still put my money on Rousey.
The fact that he would be as demeaning as to say if she lost she would have to make him a sandwich is an absolute joke. I hope she accepts his challenge and turns that tank into to the piece of crap he is.
I know it will never happen, and the closest we will ever get to seeing Rousey fighting a man was at Wrestlemania this past year when she tossed Triple H out of the ring. But still, a man who believes in this kind of equality can dream can’t he?
